GT3 awaits patiently!

Chris

You have done what I am considering doing, not that it will be much earlier than 12 months before I will be able to get one, given the waiting list. Except I have a black C4S already.

A few days on, how are you finding the handling of the two? I know you made an initial assessment, but you have had a little more time now. Whilst I guess that you are not a test driver for a living, any thoughts you have would be interesting to hear. I assume this is all road based, as the GT3 has done too few miles to be tracked.

As you have the two cars together (any other angles would be good to see), I assume you did not p/x with your OPC. Where are you considering selling it, how is it going, what's the depreciation like (I know) and so on.

Best Wishes,

Derek

Derek,
I am up to 1000 miles now and I really do have to say this car is just Phenomenal. I am going upto scotland for a long weekend, so will report on it when I get back from there. Suffice to say so far I have totally fallen in love with it, I have never owned a car previously, and Ive had a few, that I felt so in touch with, I know its a cliche thats been used in the roadtests, but you really do feel part of the car with a GT3. The steering is sublime, it amazes me you can take your hands off the steering wheel at 100 mph + and the wheel has no vibration and tracks in a perfect straight line. The sound is just wonderful, a howl that starts at 4k rev and then builds to a crescendo at 7-8k. Upto date the best sounding car Ive had was a M3 CSL, the GT3 has been the first car to top that.
The performance is staggering...I did have a 996 X50 previously and I have to say the GT3 feels a lot faster, it just goes & goes & goes right through the rev range, seamless effortless power.
The other thing that has quite amazed me is that you could live with it everyday, it really is very civilised, not much differant to my C4S, infact as my C4 had the -20mm suspension, I have to say the GT3 with the active suspension is actually noticeabley softer.
Everybody who is a porsche nut really needs to have a GT3 for a weekend once at least, I have to join the rave review brigade..its quite simply the most stunning car I have ever driven!

It's true, the new GT3 really is a remarkably talented car. Best of all, it's so tactile that you don't have to drive it flat out to enjoy it. Even at modest speeds, on give and take B roads, it feels fabulous.

Porsche won't lend them for the weekend, and most dealers can't even get a demonstrator. However, seriously interested buyers can do 'Test Drive Plus'. I think this involves a couple of hours with a professional instructor both on road and track.

Chris

So, in summary, you quite like it, then! Pleased to hear it and not jealous in any way.[8|]

Always happy to hear of your GT3 update, but, if you feel ok to do so, I would be interested to hear how/where/for how much and so on you sell the C4S.

Thanks,

Derek
PS: Could you leave your full name and address, so that I have someone to give to my wife as the source of blame for the C4S to GT3 suffle that I am sooo close to dancing?![;)]
