GT3 RS Tyre Fitting

Yes will definetly be butying a multiplier and taking it to Spa just in case!!

I was also in touch with 'Skids' in Falkirk last week after you mentioned 'Drivers' they say they have fitted tyres on centre lock wheels and supply them if required. Its fairly near me so I'll go and have a look this week, appear to fit lots of shiny wheels to a good selection of cars if you have a look at there web site.

If you are going to buy a torque wrench then buy a good one.Snap on will charge you a small fortune but its worth it.Also you need to get it re-calibrated on a regular basis. I always use a torque wrench carefully as dropping it or bumping it off the floor bodywork etc can affect the calibration and a torque wrench that is say only 5% out of calibration is as much use as a chocolate fire guard.
And while we are on the subject I don't understand why you are all so down on OPC Glasgow.I use them all the time and it doesn't matter if I spend £1 or several hundred pounds i always get looked after.I get to have a look in the workshop etc ( although I must admit I am more interested inthe workshop than the sales floor) Always get offered coffee etc and the parts guys will chat Porsche all day.

Have just ordered a full set of tyres from OPC. Although they would not fit tyres supplied from elsewhere, they were very competitive on price and got within a few pounds of kwik fit.

[:D]lol

Have driven a couple,964 C2 and 4 .996 C2 and C4s. not a 997 though. 964 was a nice car but really did feel like a big fast beetle.996's are to much like a gt car for me.I supose I just like old carsand I get just as much if not more out of building a car than I do out of owning and driving them.

I was at Performance Tyres in Anniesland a couple of times when Glasgow OPC came down to get tyres fitted. (Prior to OPC moving to Braehead). I watched them doing 19" rears on a 997.

Not plush establishment, but you can watch and chat to the guys whilst they are doing their stuff, and OPC were obviously happy to use them (I would suggest that they were applying a significant markup to the unaware customer, but that would be pure conjecture).

edit: forgot to say that the last time I was there (sorting an aunties' car) I asked how they'd cope with the wheels on my current car - which are reverse-fitment. I'd never even heard of this, but they reassured me immediately that they had rubber covers to allow the wheels to go on their equipment face-down without damaging them.
