GT4 Numbers and Values ...

I thought the final numbers were likely to be around 550 and, as such, you will always get a certain percentage on the market.

WRT values, I think everything - classics, collectibles, premium GTs, etc - have reached a limit, and we are seeing a gradual correction.

Something like the GT4 and the GT3RS will inevitably adjust down, but they have both achieved such high acclaim that they should always be fairly sought after. The GT4 in particular, because they are in a more accessible price bracket with more useable performance.

no one knows the number yet end of 1/4 one there were 442 GT4's

Not sure prices have dropped that much, top 555 just sold the blue one for £95k with no buckets and the one before was £109k which sold last week.

you see some lower spec cars come up at £88k like the 911V car but that sold in one day.

(just looked now and no cars are under £89k) so prices look stable as ever to me.

I have been following price and yes there was a big drop into 2016 from OCT 2015 £110k prices but the car was new, but cars with Buckets, leather, carbon seem to all be £90k for ages.

The RS have dropped £30k in the last month and 981 SPyder seem to have taken a £5k hit and now most are £79k

the next big drop will be the 991 GT3 imo as soon as the 991.2 GT3 is available £140k for those car is daft and could drop £40k over night.

Sell or ride it out? Well they're not going to go up in price again so there's nothing to ride out. So if you want to make money you need to sell asap. The GT4 will be back to original list price by October. Which still means a lot of free motoring for those that bought them new!

Just noticed there are 27 Cayman GT4's on Pistonheads and values appear to be dropping, also worth noting that Gt3 and RS values are dropping as well..?! There is about 700 GT4's now in the UK and rising but now production has stopped. Any thoughts on this and should GT4 owners think of selling or ride it out ...?? Andrew

the GT4 will not drop to list by OCT when prices are £90k now

they might take a £5k hit to £85k for nice spec ones, which means chairs, no leather and no carbon might see £79k

but as the car was £65k list plus options , back to list will not happen this year or even next imo.

people who bought hugh spec cars ie added every thing might take less profit as some cars were £85k rrp so there is not £15k in those cars as very few people pay >£100k

But I could put mine up for £85k and take £10k and I think it would sell the same day at £85k with my quite full spec.

I think ride it out and have a free car, the people who need to worry were the Trophy hunters who paid £110k for GT4's 2nd hand and who paid £275k for the 991 RS which are now £200k !!

I find all this about values very disappointing I thought that you purchased a car because it was something to be enjoyed! Perhaps Porsche should look at those that purchased a limited number car new and if they sold it within 12 months then best of luck to them but they will NEVER get another opportunity to buy a limited number car again. I was lucky enough to be offered a GT3RS by my dealer who I have been using since 2002. I have no intention of selling my car to just make a profit I just want to enjoy it and meet like minded people.

Values have found their level for a while but rise or fall I'm really happy to keep my GT4.

We will see when October comes ;-) However I should have used 'cost' rather than list i.e. meaning list + options (so £75K to £80K for a good spec?). The overs prices are only paid by rich people who don't care about the extra cost to have the latest thing. The next phase will be those buyers who want one to drive and enjoy. These are more patient and willing to wait 2+ years to get one and won't pay over the original invoice price.

If that's your garden Nicks I can see why there's no need to indulge in profit taking!

Great car.

I love my GT4 and value both the car and my relationship with OPC ... I hope to keep the car forever or either until i need the money or can replace it with a better car - which will hopefully be the Gen2 GT4 or GT4 RS ... but was interested what other GT4 owners thoughts were?! Compared with a Gen1 GT3 at similar money i think our little fire cracker wins every time ..?!! Andrew

Great car.

Thanks Paul it is a truly great car and if I sold it I can’t see another car I’d rather have below the selling price. Sorry, not my garden as you probably guessed.

I know quite a few who paid overs, I would pay overs for a gen 2 GT3, and many many people pay overs for 991 GT3's

a lot of GT4's were sub £70k and a lot of people put a limit of £70k on the car when specing, will we see £70k cars with buckets, I doubt it.

we are £20k away still, OCT is 2 months away , lol I'll take a bet but would not want to take your money ;-)

I agree with Mr D ... But also lets not forget that very soon the OPC's will be able to retail GT4's and that will help keep values at a Premium. August is almost season over and some owners will have had their fun and happy to flip at a low residual to move into the next big thing but next Spring prices will rise as supply has ceased and flippers have flipped ... I think the GT4 is a kind of "keeper" car for allot of people and if Porsche build the next GT4 with a Turbo it will become a Collectors Classic overnight if its not one already ...?!! Either way - i don't think my car will be worth less than i paid for it unless there is a recession or interest rates jump up 5% ...

My GT4 was collected yesterday, the final production GT4 my OPC are receiving. So, I would assume the build programme is pretty much complete.

This is my 15th 'new' Porsche and I can sense it's one of the greats. Mind you, I haven't driven it yet. My daughter, 17, collected it and took the scenic route home, and then my son, 19, promptly disappeared in it - both declaring it to be absolutely fantastic!

Nicks, that's a stunning car!! What shade of red is it? I'm colour blind so have problems with more than one shade of a particular colour 😔
