GTS 4.0

Thanks Dan. I had an “on / off” relationship with the dual zone and after chats before freeze the thoughts with the OPC was spend it on something else.

Mainly because, and this is for me, in over a year never once has the dual zone been set differently in the 718 style.

Plus it’s the one environment in “my car” where I am actuality “in charge” of something, and not the wife 😇

I’m surprised that you took off the climate control option Andy [which includes dual-zone]. I hope you realise that by not selecting climate control you will now have to adjust the temperature and fan speed manually. The standard aircon is not climate control without dual-zone. It’s a common misunderstanding, and often the sales staff don’t know the difference!

It’s a bit of a hobby horse of mine I’m afraid, but it’s absolutely ridiculous that climate control isn’t standard on a car costing ~£80k with options. Embarrassing when you consider that the standard aircon is what you get on cars costing a fraction of the price.

As Jeff alluded to, it’s not about the different zones, it’s about the set and forget function rather than having to turn the ac on when it gets hot and off when it gets cold.

There are lots of things on the Porsche options list that should be standard in my opinion. I suppose it’s the price we pay for individuality.

Does anyone actually know when they are going to pull the plug on GTS 4.0 production? I am hearing all kinds of rumours at the moment ranging from : Stopping in September 2024 to carrying on next year with GTS 4.0 , RS and RS Spyder. I have a 22 GTS 4.0 and put down a deposit for a new one thinking that its going to be discontinued any time now but nobody seems to know . A couple of OPC's said that they wont know until it is removed from the configurator. All seems very odd , especially as other markets have already stopped offering the car.

I fancied a manual on the basis that its likely to be the last Porsche I ever buy new. I drove a 718 GT4 manual a while back and just thought it was a bit more engaging for a car that isn't used daily. Having said that, I am doubting myself on a regular basis but not under any pressure to firm up a spec yet or even take delivery if an allocation becomes available.

Dan / Jeff - Thanks for the heads up and I checked with the OPC on the Air con. Exactly as you say so they have allowed a change of it going back on 😀

Hi Neil, I can only say what I was told in that the Style and GTS4.0 (did not ask on GT4) are the only ones they (OPC) thought were going to be produced before the announcement on dates for electric. So more chance of getting one of these….. well that’s what they said.

New to thread but have a 718GTS in Aventurine Green. It is sometimes difficult to tell the colour from Agate grey but in the flesh people do notice. I do regular POCGB track days and it does tend to stand out and gets some favourable comments. I realise its a more expensive cost option than when I bought, 2020, but it really does suit the car. We saw one in the showroom when choosing and my wife said immediately 'get that'. Apart form that do love the car though it isnt quite what it says on the tin any more. Noise is a little subdued in standard trim, an X-pipe has improved things somewhat though it is a bit boomy at specific revs. Bizarely a couple of cushions in the back luggage area have solved things to some extent!
