no-one is right yet!
There is a prize in it
It´s obviously no racetrack, it´s Bletchley Park. Armco, signs and racecars only to confuse German paratroopers.
So, what´s my prize?
None of my passengers screamed, everybody walked away, but it was only Jason that I got under the car !
Seriously, quite a steep learning curve. I was there the full day, my first time, and in the morning was the only Pork amongst a swarm of MK's (Caterfields), Clios and the odd M3.
The circuit very much favours small nimble cars.
There is a very interesting triple apex curve followed by a chicane, followed by a downhill (sometimes very aquaplany) straight, into a tight left-hander that is the crux of the straight that follows.
Then there is a very tight left-hander to the Mountain followed by a very interesting blind crest, then a set of three squiggles leading into a right hand hairpin (under a tree), leading to a tight right hander (in trees), followed by another straight at the end of which is an almost flat left.
Then the right, into the almost invisible second right leading into another straight, at the end of which is the almost invisible start of the interesting triple apex curve. All right !
If you read the "blind", "almost invisible", "trees" and "aquaplany" --- complicated with swarms, you have the picture.
To attempt to tackle this on a single rainy/dry'y afternoon was asking too much, so not Matt's favourite.
There were more than a few people feeling rather ill by the end of the day.
In the rain, two people overtook me only to frighten themselves a very short distance further along the circuit --- and were therefore re-overtaken.
I for my part, almost suffered terminal aquaplaning on the downhill straight into the tight left hander which I honestly thought I was not going to get round --- my passenger being in blissfull ignorance of the rattling abs and the "beneath the surface" foot and hand work !!!
I remember once climbing a rock in the Cuillins called Barstairs Tooth. I had to grub along an upwardly inclining quartz extrusion (in walking boots) to reach a hand hold that was a little beyond me (in more ways than one). How distinctly I recall that feeling of "levitation" --- the feeling that some intangible force had given me a push in the right direction when all else was in danger of failing !
Good days []
I do love the circuit though, in the dry, once you konw it, it does provide some great thrills at comparitively low speed. It is known as a bit of a car breaker though.
Last year I did follow a an RS LWT, in clubsport spec (Maritine, with ali front wings!) around, and he was making a good job of it. Still held me up, but I was quite impressed.

Perhaps PCGB could hold a day there?.....oh probably not as it would be £450 for the day only to be cancelled the day before![:'(]
(that was a joke Mr Kevlin [])
I think that if the full circuit could be used, in spring or summer, preferably open pit, then interest would be high.
I've done lots of days there since and would agree that it suits nimble cars or perhaps more commitment from me. The drive to Cadwell is almost worth the entry fee if you know the best roads.
