Having fun in Wales

While I have internet out here in darkest Wales I thought that I'd report on the fun being had by both myself and the car on these lovely Welsh roads....Let's just say that this car is pure awesome...doesnt miss a beat no matter what the road or it's condition which btw has been pretty wet over the last few days. What I really love is how effortlessly she eats up the steep inclines...I can be in 3rd or 4th..at 40..makes little difference which and with an open road in front of me just let the throttle sit at 20% and let the boost rise which it does extremely quickly...before you know it I'm hitting 3 figures with only 20% throttle and straight up a bloody big hill....the torque in this motor just blows me away......happy days...

Jason,

Funnily enough the first thing I thought when reading Pete's post was "think how much more fun he'd be having in an S2"!

Downside is that he'd be travelling quicker so it would all be over a bit sooner. Maybe it's good that he's in a Turbo after all. [sm=kiss.gif]

Well, guys, I'm glad that I didn't bump into any of these fast S2's...I wouldn't have wanted to be like the proverbial slow caravan holding up traffic on Cornish roads...:)

Pete

Come on chaps! This isn't going to develop into a half-decent S2 vs. Turbo slanging match if the rest of the turbo boys don't join in!

Come and help Pete out here. It's getting dull and he needs some friends!

(Or is it that you are all on your way but are slightly delayed by poor performance? [:)] )

Turbo drivers have nothing to prove :) though no doubt a certain lightweightRR owner will be along shortly [:(]

That little red devil that now and then sits on my shoulder was kind of hoping that I might bump into a certain lightweight 924s while driving around Wales..not for any particular reason you understand..:)

Your Pistonheads post a few years ago suggests you're a closet Turbo fanboy.....:ROFLMAO:

Have you had any / many on road duels with a 952 ? out of interest, and if so was it twisty and stop start or straight lines and where
was the blower at a disadvantage etc.. ?

Maybe the turbo lovers just seem to have too much "talk" and not enough Go ?

You missed the important bit--"£40K"-possibly too valuable to risk a collision with you Peter??

you mean too risky for me, I've spent more on mine......:)

I'm saying nothing just in case it's like Beetlejuice where you say his name 3 times and he appears [:-]

And just think i was considering a turbo soley for its air con,,,,
boost in the pouring rain and i am not a particulary good driver= widowmaker[:D],,,,
was it true? that in normal factory set boost ,,you could light your fag and smoke it before the boost kicked in?,,,
Only jesting chaps,,,please,,please no 4 pages of boost charts lol,,,,,jay[;)]

climate control dear sir, climate control..... btw, what's lag?....:)

Porsche handicapped the 944 turbo with lag so as not to embarrass the 911 of the time, that's my theory anyway.(It's fact that they slowed them down)
And as the brethren know it can soon be dialled out, then hold on to your goolies, still a very quick car today with a mild off the shelf tweak.
The shove in the back as boost builds still does it for me. [:D]
