heater/temp control

Silver7,

It all sounds very normal to me. However, if you take it in to a good Indy they should be able to plug it into a diagnotic tester while you wait. It will also put your mind at rest. The system doesn't work anywhere near as well as a modern BMW or Audi. When I drive my 993 I am constantly twiddling the temp control.

The big snowflake is the maximum cool setting. When you press this the AC is set to max cool, the fan speed is set to maximum, all the air is directed through the face vents and I beleive it switches the system into recirculation mode. This should be used in extremely hot weather when you want to cool down quickly. Again from your description the system is working as it should.

thansk - what is weird is that sometimes when you push the big snowflake is just blows colder, not harder. The a/c has been sorted with new compressors etc and regassed. To be honest having a spare CC unit is a good thing anyway. OK - will go to an indy and check it out - thanks. where are u? I am in SE9

Well, it has kinda got a mind of it's own. Sometimes it does unusual things. Even after five years of ownership I can never predict exactly how it will behave. The only solution as PP says is to keep twiddling that temp control knob. Soomewhere around 21 is usually fine for me, but on really cold days I will put it up to 27.

The high boost fans often don't cut in immediately. That may be a low current issue ? Who knows.

It's nothing like the Merc - I just set that and leave it.
