Hi

Thanks Alex as im not computer literate this really confuses me , why can the Porsche website not be like e mail, which simply asks you to attach a file and hey presto it works. Really in todays technology what is wrong with the Porsche Club,s website that when doing a post you cannot attach a photo directly ??????

Hugh

Hugh, the Club is currently in the process of starting with a clean sheet for the website, forum and social media channels. Whatever route you take with pictures, they have to be reduced in size from the original and once you get used to it, Photobucket does it automatically for Forum use and is reasonably easy to use. Have a go, and if you have any problems there are helpful people on here who will help. Alex being one.

By the way, glad you love your lardy 991 [:D]

I think the point is the Club website and forum have been running in its current form for many years now and the technology is out of date and not capable of storing large files like photographs. This is the reason they must be hosted on third party servers.[]

The Club's IT team have been working on a new website using the latest architecture, but this takes time and the work is now nearing fruition. There's a meeting in November to finalise details.

Until then, you're stuck with this ancient system. [&:]

Regards,

Clive.

Hi All

Really appreciate all the responses and also i have emailed peter and alec to try and assist me getting photos on the forum. Its nice to see so much assistance within the club for people like myself.

Best Regards Hugh

Hopefully you will see photos of my car soon

Looking good. Just need to fix a few of your tags.

Make sure you have opening [] and closing [/] tags for each item.

If you just want to display big images then all you need is the http address of the image and stick that between tags

[/code]

Normally in photobucket you can get the direct URL by clicking on the image thumbnail in photobucket. They do change the interface a lot though so this has a tendency of moving location.

Well done Hugh, you got there in the end [:)]
The car looks great! I really like the red roof, it's a brave choice but looks fantastic with the silver and the sport design pack.

The Cab does look good with the aero pack, doesn't it. And love the cheeky Cayenne parked round the back [:D]

Peter

Ann and myself along with Anya our grandchild spent about a week on the configurator building this car. Our own children said , Silver and red ,what is wrong with your heads, Anya said it class granda. that was it car ordered.

Cayenne in the back ground, love it . Had an x5 for six years could not fault it , but this is in a different league, have covered about 9K miles , fuel consumption is about 28-43 mpg. Big concern at the moment is tyres as they are exhausted after 9k miles !!!!!. Looking at different tyre manufacturers to see if i can get better mileage as the saving in fuel economy is really outweighed by the tyre mileage.

Any advise appreciated
Regards Hugh

I'm running Michelin Latitude on 20" rims and they've lasted really well, probably 15k so far and will last until the winter tyres go on. What are yours?

Hi Peter
I specked the 21" turbo wheels on the configurator and the car came with Pirelli P Zero,s 295/35/R21 107y. I had to replace all tyres yesterday and i only have 10k miles done. I looked at several tyre choices and ended up fitting Contiental Cross Contact UHP 295/35/R21 107y as someone said on the Cayenne Forum they had got 20k+ on Conti,s.
I,ll keep you informed on mileage .
Ps The Conti,s cost me £218 + Vat which i believe to be a very good price as i priced aroud and two other suppliers were £270 + Vat

Hi Peter
Well the GTS has gone ! great car but having tried a couple of 991, s and sat in Russells the itch would not go away!,
Anyway the right car came along at the right price, will try to post some pics with your help I am sure, speak to you on the 1st.Nov
Full spec is 991 4S white with cup aerokit, 430bhp powerkit,PDK sports crono, Pse ,sports suspension, carbon interior, having driven the
car all I can say is wow!, feels quicker than the GTS even with only 1000 on the clock, and the sound of the pse quite addictive[:D]
Just need to adapt to the feel of the 4wd after the Gts.

Lyn and John Stokes.

Sorry, been away and out of contact - congratulations both on your new purchase - another full on high spec car joins the ranks. Certainly be good to see you in a couple of weeks but I'll try and get you up and running with posting your pictures before then.

Thanks for your comments Peter, will try to get some pics before the lakes w/e but back to the opc
next week asap as VTS will not switch on, are well teething problems I guess [8|]
