Hello chaps, Robbie here!

Hello Chaps

I notice not to many of the regulars on Titanic (I have just re-subscribed after a couple of months off).

Have you moved over here?

Show of hands?

My hands held high here.

Where have you blummin been? Nice to have you back Robbie [:D]

Ditto

Good to hear from you again Robbie.

I still view the Titanic e-mails (viruses and all) but haven't found much to stimulate a response recently. Much work with the delete button on the whole.

Hey Mr Sims you're supposed to be working. [:D][:D][:D] If you can be on here you can come race me at Monza in GPL [;)]

How I would love to, but having got home after a two hour drive I'm having a quick coffee befor going off to my other project. No peace for the wicked.

GPL as in Grad Prix Legends? Do you play it on line?

Damned difficult game - I bought it for the 'Ring but I've never got to be any good at it.

Oh, and I confess, I prefer the forum format and I think we have nearly enough people here for it to be fun. I still use Titanic as well though.

Yes Fen, look in the chat room, I've been trying to organise an online Forum championship

Tonight was the first trial night, but we couldnt get enough numbers. Whats your best Ring time? 9:06 here

Has anyone played Need For Speed Porsche 2000 /Unleashed?

80 different Porsche's including several customisable 944's (you can even mod a Turbot)

The Graphics are a little dated by modern standards (but still very good) but the game physics are second to none. can be played online and bought from Amazon for about ÂŁ8.00

I've never had a game that's held me addicted for so long, about 2 years and counting.

And I WILL wup anyone tha thinks they are hard enough :)

Tim.

Tim, I have been an NFS addict since v1; PU is probably my all-time favourite game. All the cars right from the 356 to the 996 Turbo are beautifully rendered... in fact believe it or not this game was the main reason I bought my first Porsche! (even though the 924 isn't in the game)

It gets even sadder... last Autumn, to celebrate 6 months of owning the Turbo, I did an 8-day, 3000-mile drive around Europe which took in 8 of the 10 courses on PU! (for anyone who doesn't know the game, this includes some pretty amazing scenery and roads). We stayed well clear of motorways until the Autobahn section, saw some amazing things, drove endlessly... and it was a truly great experience - I was able to really PUSH the car and probe its limits, and I appreciate it so much more as a result. I'm hoping to drive coast-to-coast along the Pyrenees this summer to flex the new Boost Enhancer...

(hmm.... have I drifted off topic? [:D])

Hey Dan,

At last someone else who knows what I'm talking about!!
And you have a Zermatt Silver Turbo as well :)

I'm also heading for the Pyrenees soon, if not this year (we've already booked this years holiday) next year for sure.

Well that's two NFS fan's are there any more out there? if you like games go over to amazon and get Porsche 2000 you won't regret it.

Tim.

P.S. posted the BE this afternoon.

I have a passing interest in NFS Porsche 2000.

I'm just getting geared up for my weekly blast of Operation Flashpoint - not a driving game, but awesome fun.

I like NFS Porsche 2000, I'm currently up to the end of the Golden Era with a Lux, S2 and Turbot in the collection, to name but a few, and musn't forget the two 550's.

Whilst NFS is a great fun game, even better because it is full of Porsches, and whilst the thought of gaining more money as you approach the end of a race gets the heart beating that bit faster, GPL is real racing.

GPL is very, very frustrating. Not only is it a pain to get it to run on newer machines but the cars are very difficult to drive fast. Just when you are about to jack it all in you get a perfect four wheel drift round one of the corners and you just have to have another go.

If I recall correctly my garage has 11 550 Spyders in it and some very tasty 911's - blood orange 2.7 Carrera etc. I also have a light blue 944T and an extensive collection of 356's.

I made my milliions as a dealer though, not a driver.

Yes I played it a lot for a while as well, but really prefer my gaming on the PS2, GT3, WRC, (F1 2002 sometimes) and cos it was cheap and had Porches in it (though not 944's) Shox, its more arcade style but the racing is close.

Anyway Welcome back Robbie

Tony (wasting too much time on here and titanic)

I know a guy who worked on Shox and he F1 series as a modeller.

He's just left EA and now runs a freelance motorsport livery design business. When he was doing it part time last year he did things like the Halfords touring cars etc.

Nice, I guess the Llvery business is taking off very nicely then, can he do us a 944 T for sports car GT ? [;)][:D][;)]

Tony
