Hello from a new owner

they work well as a slick then? ;)

im amazed at the price and selection if i drop to 195/65 15s rather than 215/60 - I take it they both fit on the same rims (manual says either/or on same rims).

I'll definitely try motortune for servicing, then might even venture to one of the gatherings north of the border; is there a calendar of events? Pity its so cold the evenings are a bit inhospitable. Roll on Summer!

I wouldn't be concerned about going with 195's (and I'd rather have a good 195 tyre than a bad 215). I think in many ways the narrower tyre suits the car quite well, assuming you like to feel the car moving around. I normally have 225's on front and back and whilst the grip is pretty good and I have no complaints (for a budget tyre), less can be more fun (unless of course you're only interested in lap times).

The car's back from motortune, and I'm satisfied with the work done. After an inspection and new tyres, Peter confirmed a couple of minor things i'd already been made aware of, and allayed my fears by specifically mentioning checking the oil level in the transaxle and that the oil was clean, something I'd wanted doing but forgot to mention. All in a fast and friendly service.

Immensely glad to find a decent garage nearby, so thanks for the heads-up. Driving back on fresh rubber (I went with the Dunlop fastresponse 195/65) was a revelation, and I arrived home with a huge grin on my face :)

Glad to hear it went well. Bet you can't wait for the summer now, and some chances to really enjoy it!
