Hello from a would-be owner!

Used to, long time ago. I'm member 2100 since 2000 my user name is Peter Fisher as I didn't know the practice of giving your self a different handle.

I'm looking at a C4s later today, its a bit high on the price and miles but maybe worth it[&:]

Going to look at a silver manual Targa tomorrow - sounds promising from the conversation I had with the owner by phone but, of course, judgment has to be reserved until I see it in the metal. Hopeful though.....

I went to see it and liked it. I've put a deposit down on it. Fingers crossed that it's second time lucky and that this one doesn't fall at the PPI hurdle!

I've given a lot of thought to buying a left-hooker - but the conclusion I came to was that I think I'd find it a compromise too far. The car will be a second car and weekend toy, and I can't help but think that I'd get rather frustrated very quickly with the overtaking hassles on B-road blasts.

I've had two LHD 911s (3.2 and 964) and believe me, it's no fun being stuck behind a tractor, caravan or horse box unable to see past whilst Mondeos etc overtake you.

Trust me RHD is the right way to go in the UK, particularly when it comes to re-sale time.

Strasse's PPI showed the car to be mechanically sound and to drive like it should. A few niggles and cosmetic issues were flagged up, but no deal-breakers.

So, if all goes to plan, I collect it tomorrow! Woo hoo!
