Hello from the Ringhaus!

Friend and I have driven over to the 'ring today. Did a single lap tonight, what an awesome experience! The carousel defies belief! Full day tomorrow and then track day at Spa on Monday - can't wait! Just polished off a steak at Sabine's place. Happy days!

I did the 'ring last year in my S2, its a fantastic place and an absolute must for any self respecting petrol head.

Have a great trip Ben - Hope the car goes well.

The 'ring is an amazing place - just keep an eye on your mirrors for the regulars....oh, and no timing.

Try and find Jochen (frozenspeed) for pics - he sets up in the PK with his laptop in the evening and takes brilliant photos. You might want to mail him tonight & ask him to look out for your car.

With the right insurance or in a ring rental, or on a UK tdo organised trackday....

Very important point as most UK insurers will not cover you for tourist days.

No in-car video allowed at the ring anymore :-( Will get some at Spa tomorrow...

Is this another new rule made up by the new owners?

No - has been the case for some time

Quite easy to get away with but you risk being barred if you get caught

No, they are very strict as they are trying to avoiding You Tube videos of people dying - especially bikers.

Yes they were very strict enforcing it yesterday. So just got back from Spa. What a wonderful circuit, fast and flowing and relatively easy on the car. Lovely setting and some cracking machinery going around. Got a passenger ride in a Lotus 211, great fun. Has got me thinking already! Car performed magnificently again, very flat and reassuring through Eau Rouge, KW's and refurbished M030 brakes well worth the investment! Some amazing 911 GTxxxx's, when those numbers come in.....! Will update this thread when I find some pictures...

Apart from the fact you can hire THEIR cameras []

Edit :- I can no longer find referance to the official cameras maybe they've stopped using those too.

So, thought I'd update this thread with a few pics - although still waiting for the money shot, i.e. in the caroussel! Had a fantastic trip covering some 1400 miles. Car was a dream and great fun on track and autobahn alike! Managed a 9:12 on my 4th and final lap of the 'ring, which I am pretty chuffed with given that a) it was my first time and b) that was on road tires. I think with more experience of the track that could easily be under 9 minutes and with some R888's perhaps closer to 8:30? Anyways, here I am leading the pack (!?) up Eau rouge and coming into the first corner on the 'ring...

Great pics, and lovely looking car in the best looking colour, of course.

Would love to drive Spa over the Ring, not sure why, but need something with a little more poke than mine!

Love the pics and yr car looks good too. I'd love to drive around Spa. You can really see the elevation difference in your pic, it's quite vast!

Jammy bu99er. I've never been, but would love to ...

Glad you enjoyed the trip. Good pics you've got there too!

Oli.
