hi retro, looks good and I like the plate. Are they the later Design 90 wheels from the S2?

Yes mate, the car came with two sets (the better ones now on her). Dont know if they were on there from new, as the previous owner didnt tell me anything!..im presumming so. Interior is sxxt-tastic brown :)

Ahhh .... that's why I said the above two statements are only true to a degree ...

Imagine a set of ingredients. Some good potatos, some milk, some nice fresh fish, a bit of cheese and some breadcrumbs. You could call yourself "Mario" and make fish and chips out of them, or you could re-name yourself "Gary Rhodes" and produce something infinitely much nicer - but both with the same ingredients.

Consider a pile of VW/Audi made parts. Mario had a go at them and turned out some VW's and Audis. Gary Rhodes had a go at them and produced a 944.

(OK, it's flawed as an analogy, but I think it makes the point!)

Oli.

Sh*t-tastic brown is very rare in series two cars. Ive only seen two RHD brown oval dashes (and one LHD). Its only looked really smart in one car though: a 1986 narrow track on its original 23mm telephone dials, in creamy pearl with with DSB leather to match.....

Plainly rubbish. [:)]

Apart from the "Dan Quail" spelling of potatoes, your analogy is fundamentally flawed. Fish and chips, simple and delicious. You added in cheese, milk and breadcrumbs, which takes the whole fish thing into another league.

We now have the fish, potato, and some other ingredients. I'd suggest that the cheese and breadcrumbs might steer you towards a really nice fish pie? Or, eat the cheese and make fishcakes from the remaining ingredients. I'm happy to consult on suitable recipies. [;)]

Regarding the "VW" thing, it's more progressive than that. To simlify it to two sentences; VW wanted a coupe, asked Porsche to design it around VW parts in a Porsche body, VW pulled out, Porsche went ahead with it anyway and we got the 924. Everyone said it was a VW, so Porsche went back to the drawing board and redesigned the engine around half a 928's V8, with now the body and engine all Porsche, and far removed from their VW roots, we end up with the 944.

Happy to help. [&:]

When i was considering buying a Porsche, i had looked at a few 924's for the money i had to spend that had looked quite smart and had the later shape interiors (think it was the S version). I suggested this to a friend of mine and he simply looked at me..then gave me a dead arm!, telling me "if you buy one of those i will keep doing that". I think ive made the right choice in my purchase.
The 944 is far superior by all accounts[:D]

Your car has the later dash, the "oval" type the earlier 944 and the 924 including the "S" all had the same "square" dash.

Mike
