Help!! Do You Think Im Banned!!!!!

10% +2 is spot on.

I was pulled at 92 on the M5.

The police told me then they work on three figures all based on the 10% +2mph rule. i.e 79+mph = 3 points+£60, 88+mph usually same as over 79 but discresionary (rush hour or empty road) and 97+mph or over = ban

I now try to stick to those stats. Always (well nearly always) below 95mph

All these estimations + a bit are all well and good, unless you're travelling on the M74 in Dumfries and Galloway District. I got pulled off the end of a fast flowing line of cars all doing approx 85mph. I was prosecuted for doing 78mph. "The speed limit is 70 mph" i was reminded by plod. Why me i questioned? "Their day will come!" I was told - speeding is speeding DOH!!!

Must have been my lucky day, I was pulled on the M42 recently and was politely warned that I had been clocked at 82, whilst this wasn't the biggest law ever broken it was the law and was warned that there was an animal loose on the Motorway and it was not a good speed to meet an animal...
Warned me and wished me on my way.. To which I did, a little bit slower but feeling that I had been treated fairly by the police officer, had it been a camera!!!! a different story and a different feeling to the police.
