Help!! Locked out

ORIGINAL: barrysmith Gentlemen, should you ever have a problem , were you are locked out , a dead battery  and you can not get in the car , do not break a window. simply remove the side indicator  they only clip in , take the 2 wires off the bulb and attach a battery charger , ( to the wires not the bulb) do make sure you connent the pos and neg the right way round,,,,,,,,,,,,, In 30 mins the car will open with the remote if not right away. then charge the battery in the normal way. All done with no stress or broken window or jacking the car up etc etc  REMEMBER NEVER USE A STARTER PACK only a battery charger.. PS put back side indicator with wires attached , THIS WORKS ON 99% of all cars as the indicators are on the hazard lighting , direct to battery side. have a good Xmas to all.
I don't understand how this works; the indicator bulb won't be connected to the battery, surely, as it isn't turned on - the switch will be breaking the circuit, therefore making connections to it won't make a full circuit. Or have I missed something? Oli.

Try it and find out it worked for me and many others , I think the alarm system plays a part in allowing the power from the battery charger to open the doors .

The indicators are wired to the alarm but the alarm too only operates the indicastors through a relay contact. There cannot be any direct connection to battery for obvious reasons. Even if the switching was on the negative, which it isn't on a negative earth car there would still be no circuit. It's not that I don't belive you mate I am just having difficulty with it [&:]

All I can say it works , are the indicators wired to the central locking, IE they flash when locking and un locking.same as porsche. my wifes car a 2005 micra , away on holiday , back 2 weeks later , flat battery not a beep, key in passage door will not open car, jack car up starter on top of gear box and you can not get to it , same with alternator. I am at a loss , removed side indicator attached battery charger and press remote all doors open, you explan it,,,,,,, it works for me , this was fact and less than 3 weeks ago.
