Here at last.

Oh, And as far as the gloss switch goes mine was a matt that had been lacquered. Not really the same as the Porsche gloss finish but is only noticeable real close up.

I still think there should be a huge Window sticker in the kit. "IMSG Sleeping aid fitted"

Ill do a couple tonight when I get home.
I was going to take pictures along the way but my hands/gloves were filthy and I kind of thought it would be pointless as it would only be the same as Jake's install instructions/Video.

The bit that I have heard people moan about through the firewall exiting via rear wheel arch was a breeze.
I either got lucky or other people tried using a French baguette as a draw wire.

Lastly I don't think much of the MCD connector I know they don't get much rain in the states but that's a joke.
Ill be replacing mine with a waterproof one like used in EU countries that build cars LOL.
This wont void any warranty.

Like this.

The plug they use isn't sealed at the joint, but they have sealed it with silicone where the wires go in. I think that all you need to do is put some self-amalgamating tape around the plug/socket joint to seal it.

Not much to take pictures of really the rest is just cabling which is all tucked away and the buzzer box is behind the dash.

Nice. Whats the button below the ims guardian?

Did you also get the option for an IMS button as opposed to the imsg icon? I saw a button with just IMS on it?

The button below is a spoiler button, normally only fitted to Turbo models. Someone must have retrofitted it, by piggy-backing it to the switch on the fuse panel. It's a common mod.

The IMSG comes with an icon sticker, and a plain IMSG sticker.

On the subject of IMSG wiring, did you connect the fuse tap the same way round as shown on the instruction sheet?

The fuse inputs are the bottom blade connections, so if you put it as shown the IMSG power will have to go through the other fuse. It will work fine that way round, but if the other fuse blows you will lose power to the IMSG. If you put the fuse tap the other way up, the two fuses will be independant of each other.

Thirteen East - How long did it take you to install, any guidance you can offer to folks who may be thinking of doing the install. Which grommet did you feed the cable out of to connect to the Magnetic Sump. Did the wiring work out OK according to the instructions and also was it easy enough to take the wire out from the connector?

Thanks

@Richard,

Sorry I didn't see your reply,

That fuse addition is a strange thing I have never come across one and I'm pleased.
Because of this I belled it out as you cant see which way round the second slot is tapped from.
And as you suggest that wouldn't make an independent circuit.
Very good point.

As for the instructions, I thought they were pretty good, as simple as it looks its not easy to draft up something like that.
I found them pretty spot on, my switch was position #3 and I think they all are but I think it would work the same from other pins because they are 12v perm too.

The Install with plenty of room (unlike me) is a comfortable 2.5 hrs.
If I did it at my work where there's lots of space and plenty of light, I reckon under an hour (now that I know the run).

The grommet was as Jake's instruction for the 986 behind the passenger (UK) seat.

Don't panic and use draw wires would the advice I can think of. I used a draw wire from the rear of the passenger seat to the wheel arch and that was it the rest was just tucked under the console.

Sorry if this is badly written, I thought it was so much more fun to stay on the train to Margate than get off it and go to School.Doh!.
