Hi from acrossed the pond

ORIGINAL: flamingeye

Looks good without. A vast improvement on the previous bumper with or without strip! No back wiper though, is this a weight saving device or does it not rain there. In your other pics I saw for the first time a 944 with the sunroof out, I'll wait till it gets a bit warmer here. But you do have a third brake light, thats got to add a couple of pounds....

Thanks for the input! I agree, the US-spec bumper is hideous. I am leaning now toward no trim piece.

That red turbo belongs to someone else. My car, being a 85.5, has no third brake light. The 968/S2 wing that I added is aftermarket, so it has no third light either. My car did come from the factory with no rear wiper (it does rain here, although since I have owned it the car hasn't seen rain), no cruise control, no alarm, and no power locks. I'm deleting the rear hatch release motor in favor of the 968CS release (cable), and deleting the AC and power windows.

Take care,

Jeremy

At the moment on the e-bay (UK) there is someone selling a rear turbo valance and seperately a rear bumper, both items are white. There's also someone breaking a red 944, not sure what model it is but looks like s2/turbo nose, from switches to panels, e-mail for bits etc. The first will ship abroad, the latter UK only. Hope this is of some use, if you would like me to look into anything let me know if it is not possible for you to do so. Who knows they might even belong to someone on this forum!

Well, to put closure to this thread...........

I decided over the weekend that I would fill in the holes on the bumper and use it without the trim. I thought that it would look a little more "modern"...

Unfortunately, I received a phone call yesterday from a breaker that I deal with here in the states. He called to tell me that he sourced a new trim piece from Porsche and it is now on it's way to me. I had contacted him several weeks ago about this and he told me he would look into it and get back with me. When I never heard back from him, I assumed that hope was lost.

So, I really couldn't fault him for his great follow-thru (although a little more "heads up" would have been good). I'm sure this all works out for the best, and it will look more factory this way. Also, he did get it for a great price, new for only $85 US delivered to my door!

Thanks for all of your help on this! I'll post pics of it when I finish the install!

Jeremy
