Hooting PCCB Brakes!!

I can see a few chips of the edge of the disc there but i dont think its anything to worry about.  I cant think why they would be there though.

I would just suggest to keep an eye on them and make sure they dont get worse.  Or if more appear then take it for your dealer to look at.

They occur from road gravel accumulation between calliper and the road wheel.

Hi Christoff,

I've only owned this car for about 4 weeks. It's already had a new gearbox (under warranty thank god) Now the rotor issue with its associated cost implication is worrying me a lot. So I need a warm feeling to get my confidence back with the this 911. Thank you very much for any insight you can give me regarding this issue, and any help or guidance you can give regarding this will be very much appreciated.

Cheers Mike

Yes i understand that its a worry for you, il dig up some info tomorrow for you and see what i can find.

Im sure you would rather be out there driving the thing than worrying about it eh [;)]

Ok then, ceramics...

Sometimes at low to intermediate speeds under light brake pressure the brakes can give out a drone or squeal.  If you think its excessive then it might be worth checking the vibration dampers are correctly aligned

Hi Christoff,

Many thanks for your prompt reply and all your investigation, it's really appreciated. I'm in Europe for a couple of weeks with the car so will keep an eye on it. From what your say it should be ok.

Once again thanks to everyone for all their comments etc

Cheers
Mike

Not a problem [;)]

As i say if you have any doubts you could just pop into a local official dealer and get them to have a quick snoop round, they have quite an extensive archive of information regarding these and they will be able to give them a proper evaluation.

Oh and enjoy your trip!  Its somewhat of a dream of mine to drive through europe, especially in a Porsche spec'd up like yours!

No all seems well, same pads after over 40,000 miles as well !! I know I am not driving it hard enough [:D]
