How many miles on your 944

This is my first attempt at a forum Poll, so I shall keep it very simple.

How many miles has your 944 done according to the mileometer. Doesn' t matter at this stage if it' s the same engine or not, or had a rebuild, just what it says on the mileometer.

If anyone has clicked over into the next mileage section since they first voted, send me an email with your old mileage and the new and I will edit the poll accordingly.

I don't really want to start again as we have nearly 200 votes in there now [:D]

I have a genuine 43,700 miles on my 88 944S!

It was stored for the last 7 years and it drives beautifully.

I need beige flannel pinstripe fabric to re-do my drivers seat and it will be perfect.

8 weeks old and 163,000 miles !!!! how did that happen, it was off the road for 3 of those weeks [:(]

Hi Harriet. I've checked the Poll and it seems to be working ok.

At the top of each page there should be a small box next to each mileage range - just put a tick in the correct box. As you have two cars you can put two ticks in at the same time, but once you have voted once that is it [:)].

If you don't have any boxes then you have probably voted previously (or the poll is broken [&:] Jeff?). If you're sure that you haven't voted then post your mileage (or email me) and I can update it on your behalf.

My 86 944 now has 228K, all by me and my wife. A Chicago car for 10 years and always a daily driver. Driver seat was re-leathered but interior is like new. After it's first 10 years it became a South Carolina resident. Runs like new with maintenance averaging around 1200 dollars a year. Just mounted new phone dials and paint is still beautiful. Koni's around, new steering rack just replaced. Gawd I love my car <smile>

1984 944 Lux with a current reading of 146000 on the clock. The engine is due a rebuild soon, its burning so much oil at the moment I think "Red Adair" would be proud.

I've not looked at the poll results recently, but it has become interesting if only for the number of people that have voted.

It is stunning to think that there are 3 cars out there that have done less than 20K. That must be a terrible burden, having a great car, in almost new condition (potentially), and then not using it for fear of adding to the miles.

Beaky is in sight of moving to a more exclusive group of only 6 cars listed so far. 200K beckons.

Let me know when she gets there John and I'll move your results.

Mine has been steady at 121,677 since 4th July [8|]

just realised you can edit the poll yourself - doh

Not that I need to for about a year but it doesn't look like I can any way. It must be a function specific to the originator or originating moderator in this case. Interesting though.
