how much was a 3.2 carrera new in 1986?

I have the orginal invoice for my 1985 3.2 Sport, registered 01.01.85

Basic car £20474.00 + £1706.17 tax
Leather trim £1276.00 + £106.33 tax
Passenger door mirror £99.00 + £8.25 tax
Central Locking £178.00 + £14.83 tax
Auto speed control £220.00 + £18.33 tax
Can-can piping to front seats £23.00 + £1.92 Tax

Total £24125.83 + £140 road pack + £3639.88 VAT + £90 RFL

Grand Total £27995.71

As a comparison my parents bought a new basic 1.0L Austin Metro that year for £3995.00 on the road.

Seems to be a large jump in the prices from 85 to 86!![:)]
 
J bought a 1930's semi in Whitefield, north Manchester for £32,000 in 1988, sold it in 1990 for £54,000 after renovation[;)]
