LOL [:D][:D]

For anyone wanting to know the spelling, it's "gynaecology"!! Quite why anyone on the forum would NEED to be able to spell it is beyond me, but I would make an exception for Vic.

A chap called Phillip on pistonheads has made some animated gifs for me. They are still quite big though, 400-700 kB, so way to big to be avatars which need to be a miserly 20 kB.

Does anyone know how to get the file size right down?

Have a look at the gifs here:

I like it when a plan comes together ![:D]

pity about the 20k limit here which is VERY miserly !

Dya know Jonny, if you' kept going around instead of turning onto the grass, you could have simply slipped into second and carried on forward as if you meant it all the time..... [:D]

Mate, I am Senna by name, not by nature. I just like cars, never said anything about actually being able to drive them properly. [:D]

John,

Do you think it would be worth doing with the above sequence? Or would it look rubbish?

If I had the seperate pictures, I could try different combinations.
The size issue (of the resultant file) is only relevant if the transition from one picture to another is done by some form of fade (ie, left to right, dissolve, spiral etc. I think you know what I mean).

So, I can give it a go, and email it back to whomever, if required.

Hi John,

That is a kind offer mate.

All the pics can be found on my picture hosting site (on page 2):

http://photobucket.com/albums/v466/JohnRW/

You will notice that the existing animated gifs on there are quite big in terms of file size.

I can e-mail the pics if that is preferable, but I don't suppose it makes much difference?

Cheers,

John.

having had a play around with the timing......

only 121kb.. getting there !

I produced a few examples, but too many to load to the forum.

So, Johnny, I have emailed you. If only I could attach via the forum email (or work out how, if it is possible).

bt if you put your mouse in the scroll bar and click down really really quickly it has the same effect, especially if its late at night and you size the window really small and your really tired and quite weird![8D]

That's quite cool!!! I'd like to see a proper sequence too.

I'm sure the person on the other side of the camera was relieved to see you stop!

God I hope not...........

Mind you, I had my geometry done today and it was miles off before the re-alignment of tracking/camber etc. Maybe that's why I spun?!!! Maybe I am a driving genius after all?

I hope your remap goes well Paul.

Hi Johnny
We chatted at Oulton last weekend, who did you get to do your geometry? I know you did'nt want to drive down to 9M from Newcastle.
Remember the quote off Rennlist " Spin enough times, sooner or later your bound to hit an apex :0) !"

Hi again!

The geometry was done by my mechanic up here in Newcastle. He uses the kit at the local Approved Porsche repair place, it has all the latest gear. I got some geometry numbers for a sprinting set up from Colin Belton and then we basically set it up in a similar way, but not with toe out at the front....instead we "zeroed" the front wheels to avoid it being too darty and also to look after the tyres. I still do most of my miles on the road after all.
