How Unique is your 944?

ORIGINAL: 944 man That was indeed what I meant. The sunroof isnt really a delete though, as it was always an option as far as the manufacturer was concerned, but something that PCGB insisted on punters here paying for. Do you know for certain that the car came with the forged wheels Stuart? Its always possible that they have been changed. Much of the parts that I sold in the nineties were fitted as upgrades by the buyers, so there are a lot of unoriginal cars around now and few owners who bridge the 'then to now' chasm.
I don't actually know for sure Simon, I have assumed! There is certainly nothing in the history to suggest they have been changed. Interestingly the MY90 sales brochure depicts the car with both the CS wheels and D90's in 2 different pictures, both clearly showing the bridge spoiler. The data sheet for MY90 quotes D90's. I have assumed that as my car seems to have been the first MY90 turbo in the UK then either the wheels were specifically asked for or ended up on the car as the production years crossed over. The car is chassis number ending 17 and I am led to believe (from Oli in Finland) that the first 16 chassis numbers for each year were kept as test or prototype cars. This I may be wrong with again. If anyone has a 1-16 chassis number maybe they could dispel this theory? Not sure. Stuart

ORIGINAL: chrisg In answer to your questions, yes it's full leather including the dashboard etc. And yes the visible plastic is the shiny black 'piano' finish, although I've started converting this to standard dull black plastic. I'm trying to find the OPC picture at Reading and will post when I find this !
I've certainly never seen another 944 like Chris's (I did mention it the other week on a thread discussing non-pink Turbo S's) Chris - was the piano finish stuff past saving? I assume it's near impossible to find replacements. Hope you get it finished in time for Bedford [:D]

ORIGINAL: Veerzigzag My bog-standard 2.7 has a working clock/stopwatch and a fully-functional sunroof - doesn't that make it unique??
I hate to burst your bubble but my 1992 Turbo cab has a fully fuctional clock. It is though unique in that according to the OPC it doesn't exist as there is no such thing as a 1992 944 but there it is in plain sight K4 AFL. This is a personalised plate but it was originally "K" reg. Another unique feature is the standard bright dash illumination, and I don't think there are many red ones with grey interior. I though it was low milage, 44,500, until I saw the similar T Cab with what was it 27,000? and then there's this 18,000 miler now. it all helps to keep the prices of the good ones high.

Me too [:D] I'm not feeling so unique any more [&o]

I believe my car is totally unique, one of only one ever made. First off it's an S2 ( best one) it was built in oct 88 so it's an early one. But the thing that makes it truly unique is the fact that it has a special number on it that was put there at the factory and my car is the only one ever made with that number on it.

And what's that then Colin? Stuart

Mine is a Sapphire blue 220 turbo with LSD, never seen one in this colour before. Clock and aircon work too [:D] I've seen Chris's two-tone one in the flesh, lovely car

ORIGINAL: 944 man Did you get the slightly rude word that I put in the serial number, too? [:D][:D][:D]
I think we'll have to start moderating all this clandestine cliquey behaviour only coz I can't figure it out :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
