Well I've been patiently waiting two long weeks to let this one out of the bag. I went to pick up my dream car today after agreeing to buy 2 weeks ago []
I've loved 911's forever and always promised myself one. However since seeing and completely falling for an Arctic Silver 993 C2S about 5 yrs ago I started to become seriously obsessed!
3 yrs ago I bought myself a nice shiny new Audi TT 3.2 as I thought it a far more sensible choice than the aging 993. However as enjoyable as the TT was to own, the damn 993 itch wouldn't subside! so this year I though balls to it I'm having one and be damned with the consequences! I put the TT up for sale and started to seriously hunt the C2S of my dreams.
After a few thousand refreshes the PH and Auto Trader Classifieds and regular hits on specialists websites, I started to unearth a handful of likely candidates. I even viewed a couple but I was very disappointed. Problem is I have impossibly high standards and accept very little in the way of compromise. So it had to be a C2S, had to be Arctic Silver, had to have black or grey interior, 18" rims, no body mods, excellent history, low miles and totally immaculate bodywork. A tall order indeed for a 10+ yr old car.
After thinking I would never find my dream car I clicked on the Paragon site just once more only to be greeted by what looked like my ultimate grail car! I called them asap and had a chat about it. By the end of a 2 minute conversation about the car I had landed a 2k deposit on it! They promised me if it wasn't as good as they said it was I could have the deposit back no worries so that was me sold!
I viewed the car and managed to pick a few little faults but on the whole it was amazing! the best I had ever seen in fact. It's like it's been kept in a bubble. It's wearing 52k now and has had all the major work done like clutch, suspension etc.
I had to wait two weeks for Paragon to perfect it for me and they gave it a massive service + a fresh MOT so I'm all set for a good year at least []
Now I know a few of you may scoff at the price of Paragon cars but for me it was worth every penny knowing the car is all up together both mechanically and cosmetically for a good time to come. They only buy the best examples so for that you have to pay your money. If you can compromise then all power to you, I can't.
The drive from East Sussex to home in Wiltshire was a joy. Even in the pouring rain and M25 traffic jams I couldn't stop grinning []
Managed to get a couple of sneaky pics before it got too dark and moody [8D]
