I need help specifing my new 2006 Boxster

I agree with Oliver: the phone is fine - although Bluetooth integration would be an improvement, the satnav is better than BMW - once you get TMC enabled, and the Bose is disappointing in all respects!

Having read posts regarding Sat Nav, I understand that my 2006 car will have TMC already available is this true or false ? As I have read the thread on Sat Nav.[8|] (Has there been an resolve to the TMC Function on older cars ?)

Hi guys,
Interesting to read all the opinions on specifying a new Boxster. I have just one observation on Tiptronic. I have always driven auto cars since the 1960s so the Tiptronic is auto++. I'm sorry Rodney Naghar, if you are using kick-down to change down a gear you have two problems. You mentioned the time lag, the second is that you are not fully in control in that instance. Use the Tiptronic buttons to change UP or DOWN whilst in auto and you have IMMEDIATE controlled changes with no lag, but don't touch the button too many times for you will drop/gain a gear for each touch!! I am amazed how many owners are not aware of the benefits of Tiptronic.

John, that feature is not available on my 1997 Boxster, once in auto I cannot use the buttons to change gears. I think this was only available on later cars.
