So lets say you have 75k to spend, which would you choose?

How about a Porsche that has enough torque to pull 3.5 tonnes?!

I was not completely convinced by the Ice Blue when I bought mine from Clive (Lancerlot) but it has grown on me - AND I have had far more compliments about the colour in the 3.5 months that I have owned it than I got within a year with my previous GT Metallic one. Wishy Washy - NO, subtle and sophisticated - YES.

Alex

Don't tell Gary !
I'd pick the Boxster too [:D]

I read the article and sighed.... and then remembered why I cancelled my EVO subscription... ÂŁ800K car wins ecoty- I should blummin welll hope so!! [;)]

Having had the new boxster for several days not so long a go
I must admit, apart from the power, the car was fantastic
60 grand to fully load the car,a lot of car for little money
Paul

agreed that comparing pagani and macca against the rest was a little bizarre-but the boxster s finishing ahead of the 991 was slightly more relevant and meaningful in my opinion.
having nearly persuaded linda to go 991 next ,after the silverstone experience day and her total love of the boxster s i think i may have more of a problem![:D]-i am hoping with the new diesel s cayenne (like alex has on order)as replacement for her estate that may distract her from my purchase!

On the above mentioned 997 GTS 2 or 4 manual would be my choice.

On the new 981 Boxster who needs a huge spec keep it simple and light and save a few quid.[;)]
Heated seats wind deflector PSE dont need anymore.

Your missus tells me you've already got your instructions, "Save for a Turbo S"! [:)]

2010 ish 997 Turbo PDK.
2012 991 C2S PDK.
or save 5 - 10k ish and go for a 997 GTS/4GTS.
I was doing my evening trawl thinking which I would have if 75k was burning a 911 shaped hole in my pocket.

1-Turbo (any !)
2-GT3 Gen 2
3-991 S with PSE
4-GTS 2 PSE
5-981 Boxster

Ask me a month ago and 991 wouldn't have made it onto my list. Having driven, surprisingly fabulous but still not as special / exhilarating as a Turbo IMO (which is why, rather than changing, I've now settled the remaining finance on mine and decided to keep her indefinitely :). Would still love a 991....but in about 3 yrs time to replace my daily BMW.

In the end, we all have different criteria so only way to resolve this is for you to take each one for a day first....then decide !

Some interesting replies.
I dont think a Boxster would be in it for me, purely because of two seats.
GT3, again a bit too hard core (I think, although I have never driven one).
I dont get the new Boxster to be honest, not as a drivers car but regarding its price point. 60k is a huge price tag for a well specced car. In 2005 we had a very well specced 987s and it came in at 50k, save an extra 15k and you have a gen 2 997tt, an extra 1 - 5 and a GTS etc etc...

Mine is in for a bit a warranty work at the moment and the courtesy car is.............. Cayenne diesel. Seriously impressed, I have to say, and more toys than Hamleys. 8 speed tip which, in sport mode, seems to change gear almost as fast as PDK! Love the power rear hatch.[:)]
