Immaculate 944s for sale (London)

lbj 944s

New member
Hi

I have an immaculate, 944S (2.5 16 valve) 1986/7 , in met grey, with immaculate half leather maroon interior, 12 months mot (and every MOT cert since new!), S2 wheels, full service history, new battery, all belts, etc changed at the correct intervals, manual, 102k miles, cd player / (6) speaker upgrade, new tyres. It is a REALLY nice example and drives well. I have owned it for nearly 5 years, but now fancy a change and would like an automatic. Looking for a nice Alfa 166/156 auto V6 with low mileage, service history etc for around £4000. (Also considering BMW coupe, Merc CLK, Jag XJR/XJ Sport). I bought my car in 2005 for £4500 and have really looked after it. For a quick/easy sale, I will accept £2500. It's a lovely car. Please get in touch if interested. I am in London/Surrey.

All the best. Luke.

Why do people join simply to pimp their car? Am I the only person who thinks that it is damned ignorant?

It's because there's no charge to advertise. Does seem a little more polite to introduce yourself before the sales pitch, though! [&:]

The fact is that member's cars sell for better money because they are know to the other forum users.

Hi,

In response to '944 Man' and Paul, I have been a guest member of this forum and several other (motorcycle and car) forums for quite a while and have enjoyed interacting with members, exchanging info / tips etc along the way. The 'classifieds' section exists for the purpose of buying and selling vehicles! I have enjoyed my car for nearly 5 years and would now like to have a change / check out some other options, eg Alfa, Jag, BMW, etc. I am an enthusiast who really looks after my cars and enjoys them. Anyone who appreciates this and wants to find a really nice example of a 944S could do much worse than buying a car from me! I don't think there is anything to be 'ashamed' of by advertising a car at the 'target market' old boy.

Thanks for the feedback! :)

Luke.

Forums tend to attract three types of people. 1. Techy people who know what they are doing in the garage and can either help others with their advice or enter into 'debates' about the best way of doing things. 2. People like me (enthusiasts) who don't really get their hands dirty, but through experience and ownership, develop a good understanding of how to go about things........but look to the 'number 1' group for advice. 3. Grumpy old, self righteous, argumentative types.

Now which would you be???

[:D]

Ignoring, for the moment, the fact that you come across as a bell-end Luke: this is not 'the classified section'.

Hi Luke.
I hope this does not give you the impression that pcgb members are all like this!!!
In general we are a friendly bunch and i cant see what is wrong with trying to sell your car to 944 enthusiasts via this forum.

Good luck with the sale!

Andrew.

Thanks Andrew. I knew that was the case really! I have enjoyed many motorcycle and car forums over the years and wouldn't be put off by a few grumpy remarks! The American forums seem to have less 'bad energy' but you can't easily sell a car to someone in the USA!

Thanks for your post.

Luke.

Luke,

Please do not think tha the majority of members would be against your post, this is after all the Porsche forum and a place to exchange all things Porsche whether that be knowledge or cars!!

Hope you sell your car for the reasonable asking price and I would treat any rude replys with the contempt they deserve, it maybe worth noting that the rude and negative posts are from "Guest of the Club" posters.

Good luck

Andy

Gotta be honest would rather look for to buy 944 on this forum than some non-specific well known auction site or general rep-mobile car web site.

After being a paying PCGB member all through the nineteen nineties Andy.

My 'rude' post is a reply-in-kind and I stand by my initial remark. I consider it rude to join a forum only with the intention of spamming a general discussion board with an advertisement.

I also think the comments are very unwelcoming. If it's such a big deal then why not have a ruling that you have to have a certain number of interactive posts before you can add something for sale. In addition, why allow 'guests' if you want to run it like the masons.

If it's as nice as he says it is then we should be pleased that it's been offered here so that another genuine enthusiast can buy it.

In general most are friendly and helpful, it's just a few that spoil it.

It shouldnt matter weather the post is from a guest or a member because all interesting and helpfull information comes from anybody and makes the forum a great way to contact and share information.

Thanks for your replies. I did register with the intention of advertising my 944S, however I think I may have been a guest member previously and had lost my sign on details. Either way, I am an enthusiast who would like to offer a really nice car to an audience who would appreciate it.

Now is someone going to buy my car?! [8|]

Many thanks

Luke.

Jeepers, this is going too far!

I personally wouldn't join a forum just to sell something on and i think it is a bit rude to do so. But nonetheless I can understand why people might do this and after all it gives them the chance to put their car across to those a bit more in the know.

I don't fit into category 1-3 very well, I'm just a complete pedant and found the whole thing quite amusing as I firmly believe that arguing on the Internet is like competing in the special olympics; win or lose you're still special!

If I were to be more productive, I'd say that you have talked the car up with regards to condition, etc. so a couple of pics would be very useful along with when the belts were last done, waterpump, cam chain condition etc.

Hi

I tried to upload a photo last night and despite being able to do so easily on another forum, it was rejected on file size. I could email it to interested parties via email, as I have done earlier today.

Full Camtune Godalming service including all belts, rollers etc within the last 10k miles and has had annual quality oil changes during my 4 year ownership, as well as things like plugs, HT leads, etc, etc- despite only having covered 2000 miles per year! There's nothing wrong with the car, it drives well, looks nice (on S2 wheels) and is frankly a bargain at £2500! I paid £4500 for it and have invested ££££ in it and improved it here and there with things like the hi-fi with a 6 speaker upgrade +Sony CD Player (very expensive professional install). I have all previous MOT certs, handbooks etc.

Please let me know if anyone is genuinely interested in buying it.

Many thanks

Luke.
