Immobiliser for 3.2 Carrera

Can anyone recommend me someone who can fit a CAT1 immobiliser and alarm (central locking also) to my 3.2 Carrera. I live near to Petersfield in Hampshire, but I am willing to travel to get a good job done.

The reason for the new immobiliser is after fault finding the problem of trying to get my carrera to start, firstly fuel pump, DME relay, coil, spark plugs, etc eventually traced it to the intermittment foxguard immobiliser.

Any help appreciated. I just want someone who take care and do a good quality neat job.

I'm not far away from you and over your way tomorrow as it happens! You could try Jon Mitchell www.jmgarage.co.uk down in Chrischurch which is where I take my car nowadays. He is a great guy generally and is a TOAD alarm installer as well and it's not a bad drive down there either!

You could try Sextons (Southampton 02380 339396) and speak to Ed. These guys are pretty switched on, so maybe able to help you.

Thanks for the advice. Slight issue that the car won't start at the mo, suspected fuel pump power, i.e. immobiliser gone screwy again. I think the next step is to find it and bypass it and make sure its the immobiliser and not a faulty fuel pump.

Thanks for all the advice and suggestions, currently getting some quotes together.

Anyway, for those that are curious as to whether I have got the car running, well....... yes i have, phew I was starting to miss it :)

Traced my starting problem to several issues, a faulty immobiliser, intermittment over-ride switch under drivers seat (never knew that was there), fuel pump wiring, etc.
I ripped out out the old CAT2 immobiliser and over-ride switch and whilst I was in the process of trying to put back the wiring to the original factory installation I decided to rip out the cobra alarm system, well it never worked properly. (and the previous owner told me it kept going off all the time).

Once all this was removed and the anti-theft control line to the DME relay working correctly, I decided to carry on and check the rest of the fuel pump electrical wiring. Measured the volts on the fuel pump fuse, DME relay side, 12.7 volts, fuel pump side, significantly less. Fuse used had a rating of 6A (i think), where as it should be 25A as the fuel pump takes 4A to 6A in continuous use. Looked like the fuse had broke down, but not blown and was therefore creating a voltage drop.

Now at least I can get a proper CAT1 system installed without the old one interfering with anything.
