Forgive me gents but i cannot afford the real thing, really hankering after an aircooled 911 (993 964) anyone know anything about the RS replica on PH in Cheshire it looks well done and correct.
Help and advice appreciated.

I heard it has had over 30k spent on all it's work to make it into what it is today and that when inspected by Peter Morgan it was described as 'totally impeccable', 'drop dead gorgeous' and 'the bargain of the century'.

It's definately sold and the new owner is quite chuffed I hear [;)]

That looks and sounds like a great buy, congrats to the new owner!

I also noticed it and posted it in the bargain buy topic on the dutch forum, if all my $$ went tied up i would have been all over it like flies on doo doo[:D]

Good job I've got loads of orange vinyl left then... [;)]

When I started the 'ISA vs Porsche' thread last week I looked at PH and saw the RS-alike at ÂŁ16k and thought it would be a lot more fun than money in the bank (and judging by the 9M replicas is already worth a lot more than ÂŁ16k. )

The last car I seriously considered buying was a speed yellow GT3 with low miles in Warwick. Des bought that one...

Note to self: stop stalling and start buying!

Sometimes you have to be very very quick[:D][:D][:D]

I spoke at length with the owner and bought it sight unseen within a matter of hours of the ad.

To say he's been inundated since would be quite an understatement[:D][:D]

But then I have told him to take it off Pistonheads[8|]

I've missed 2 cars mind you (older ones) in the last month though that I should have pulled the trigger on quicker. That said they both sold in the first 24hrs but I still could have had them[]

You've definitely got a bargain there Jason. It certainly has had some time and money spent on it.
Nicely done !

Cheers

I'm sure that car would like a day out at Oulton Park with some buddies in early June [;)]

Yer booger ......ain't nothing like the real thing though..............[;)]

I guess we will soon find out!

I've just read through the 16 page Peter Morgan report and I don't think I've ever read anything where every single thing is just about perfect. Sounds like new - even all 4 tyres have 7mm of tread on them!

About as close as you can get to an RS without it being one (or a ninemesiter copy) I reckon. You read through the report and its obviously been stripped back to a shell and built up as an RS using all the stupidly expensive original parts. All the deletions are correct - even the likes of RS headlining with interior light delete and cigarette lighter delete etc etc etc. Interestingly the car only had 3 options as new - so no sunroof, aircon, rear wiper etc anyway.

Other than Mags (Chris do you want to sell that cheap set you got off here that I nearly bought?[;)]), seam welding, aluminium bonnet (its got a carbon fibre one) and rolled arches I'm not sure anyone could tell it apart.

I mean - who on earth goes to the lengths of fitting the thinner glass in a rep????!!!!!!!

Looking forward to pick up this week - on the test drive it was reported as being quite loud (cat bypass etc) and 'INCREDIBLY POWERFUL'. Its got a dyno printout of over 300bhp?

So first things first - need to get a full alignment and suspension set up (think it may be set up too low - i hear good things about Chris at Centre Gravity??), check what decibels its putting out and get it on a rolling road.

Oh and maybe a bit of orange...... [;)]

Happy? I can't stop [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

Jason that's not fair ![] you have far too many good and interesting Porsches for one man.[:'(] Buying up all the availiable good pork simply isn't cricket[:D]

Oh Jason, you lucky sod.
For the first time in 2 years, I got the green light from the wife to buy a car when I told her about this 964. Even she agreed that it looked cheap (compared to what I sold my 993 RS for, she remarked!!).
Obviously I was too late to buy the 964. It was criminally under-priced. What a gem for track days and only 1/3 the cost of a real one. No brainer for me.
Never mind that it isn't real, you could drive that thing on track harder than a real one just because it is a rep.
I agree about the suspension. I'd go to center gravity and ask for the ride height to be set to normal RS height. I think the rear RS badge looks a little wonky (slightly rotated clockwise perhaps?) but other than that, the car is sensational.
Well done you fooker. [;)]

Oh, and whilst I'm hurling abuse at Jason for his success, here's some other things I'm not happy about with the car:

1. It needs a radio for 5 hour drives from Newcastle to the track. I live miles away from anywhere except Croft.
2. Not sure abut the heating delete. Maybe get an electric heater like I think Rancey has/might have done?
3. Couldn't see a harness bar on the cage. Need to buy harnesses and perhaps fix them to the rear bulkhead (which I believe to be safe).

You see, not the perfect car afterall. I think I had a lucky escape there. ;)
