Inflation

Just noticed the advert in Porsche Post from the Hairpin Company. They seem to be selling the white RHD RS with red wheels and TechArt spoiler.

In June it was £50k, now it's £60k - that's inflation.

I thought the same car was around at £41k last year,so thats 47.5% price increase in a year??hhmm!.....nearly time to sell up???

Yes Clubsport aware of the car as I have received upteen calls on this car over the last 18 Months, just relating to LAST TIME IT SOLD, it was offered before Hairpin first had at a lot less AND ADVISED certain individuals to buy IT! Yes circa low 40K.....IT IS WORTH £60k NOW well, from what I know it's a nice example in GP White let's see, the market with this is in new territory. Personally the Red LHD LWT with 5000 miles at same money is what I would buy. EACH TO THERE OWN HERR Clubsport. Sorry must go another call from a 993RS owner looking for a 964RS!![;)][;)][;)][;)][:D][:)][:D]:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I personally don't think that a) it is a very good example (having inspected it myself) it is well used imho and b) that it is worth any more than £46k...

....but I am sure someone will buy it.

Well, it was advertised at £50k last time and sold.

And prices do seem to have jumped since then, --- but did the £45k LHD Maritime blue car ever sell ?

On the rarity stakes the RHD cars are at a serious premium, and the nice RHD Touring did sell at £55k .... one of 7.

But I do wonder how much bigger than we PCGB '64RS nuts, this market is ?

996GT3RS or 964RS ? Which would you choose ?

I guess the owners of the Touring versions class them as a "Real RS's". However, which one of the RS derivatives is truely the "Real RS" in your view?

I remember commenting a year or more back when the leightweights were circa 30 that at 20 the Touring advertised at the time was worth buying.

I also commented that if Porsche built 7 garden sheds they would eventually be worth more on rarity value alone.

No one listend to me [:(]

I had a 993 LHD with X-51 3.8 engine --- pre-varioram it was as close as you could get to a 964RS engine --- same torque but just 280BHP due to induction differences, and fully blueprinted as all RS engines are. It had lots of original Porsche GT3 type mods --- LSD, earlier G50 low ratio gearbox, lower suspension etc etc all from the factory. Narrow body, it was probably 1 of 1 out of Stuttgart, but nobody knew what ot was and it sold for little more than a standard left hooker.

So, for me the message is simple. If Porsche say the Touring is an RS (and they do) then it is.

And now I will contradict myself. Except the RS America !!

What does anybody else reckon ?

I agree with Des, if it were my money I think £60k would be better spent on the 5,000 mile LHD example. I'm surprised this is still for sale.....

Nice road car.

Not my track car of preference.

Just IMHO.

Jason, I agree entirely -- I visited that option and for me also, it was not right.

But it would be nice not to have worry about that four letter word for winter drivers --- SALT !

Exchanged for the comfort of, UNDERSEAL (and a big washer bottle) !!
