Insurance Boxster

Insurance should put you back in a similar position to which you were befaore any claim.

Declare factory fitted options - soem companies say OK if its on the original invoice, other call them modifications and load the premium accordingly.

DirectLine insist on a tracking device, but the savings on the premium aren't enough to justify installation and sucbscrition.

As always, shop around, be honest and read the small print !

Try A.Manning - they have bespoke Porsche Schemes which includes official Porsche Club track days.

Adrian Flux always worth a try too - better to call them than use the online quote system !

When renewals pop through the door try applying to the same company as a new customer either on line or by speaking to a human, you will be amazed by the price difference from the renewal that has dropped through your door. Insured my 2001 Boxter S, Vauxhall Corsa (the wife's) and a Renault Laguna sports tourer (for the dogs) on a multi car policy with Admiral for £680 for the year.

...policy with Admiral for £680 for the year.

T200 - you da man! £475 for the Boxster for myself and my retired brother, with full NCB protection, £400 total excess and no requirement to reactivate the tracker.

Thanks,
Chris.

No worries mate glad i could have helped just watch out that they dont bump it up on the renewal if they do try a quote as a new customer Direct Line are famus for this.

I get the feeling Privilege (same company as Direct Line) have been pulling a similar fast one on me for the last few years - my last renewal was £306, which for a 9-year-old car driven by a 44-year old driver with no convictions is pretty mad.

Chris.

Same here was with direct line and their renewals were always in the one direction UP so went on line as a new customer and it was a good bit cheaper called them and told the operator this and she said sign up as a new customer so much for customer loyalty

And even if you do speak to a human, its worth squat unless you get it in writing!

Chris.

True, I got a telephone quote prior to buying a car, only for them to decline cover after I had bought it !

Quite a few companies will provide Gap insurance (the AA does for a small regular premium).

Enjoy your new Boxster I am sure you will love it! (And silver is the best colour!)

I have the feeling the bulk of any insurance quote is always the amount of damage you're likely to cause to other people, rather than to your car.

I have no convictions, but no NCB either (hadn't owned a car for the 6 years before I got the Boxster) and I pay around £800 insurance on my Boxster!
