Insurance increase - outrageous!!

Thanks everyone for their suggestions and comments. Just to conclude the story, the best quote I managed to secure was £1,200 with Royal and Sun via Adrian Flux which I took up. Interestingly, R&S via Performance Marques was the same price once you had factored in the "free" PCGB membership!

Quoteline direct came up with Chaucer Insurance for £800 ish but the excess was double at nearly £2,500. Interestingly, the £800 premium applied to the car valued at £40k. I changed the value to £45k and the premium came back at £2,600!!!

Clearly someone's making money out of the insurance game, and it ain't me.....

Thanks again all.

try swiftcover.com - i am 32, have had one claim in the last year (not my fault) and the price is £528 fully comp

I know these insurance things are very personal, but some of the companys definitely take the pi** !

I'm 51, with full NCD living in north Essex, and have just renewed my 2005 Boxster 2.7 with Admiral for £480 with protected NCD, so I'm not complaining. Excess is £400.

i used insurancesupermarket.co.uk or similar and saved about 200 quid on the renewal quote. Quotes ranged from over £1k to under £500 for the same details, go figure!
