Insurance with Carole Nash

I just got a quote from RH saved a further £75, so my 3.2 will cost £212 to insure, not bad at all being another centre of the Universe resident - hey Bones when we going for our next road trip?

Yup, insurance states that the car must be in the garage between 10pm to 6 am if it's at home

Carole Nash Insurance are to say the least weird ...[:-][:-][:-]

Both our Porsches have a classic insurance with an agreed valuation with CN. When it came to renew Tony's insurance last October, they increased the premium and changed the cover to another insurance company who did not insure with a valuation. I queried this and was told that it was no longer possible to have this car insured under the same terms. I made enquiries with other companies and then decided to query this with CN again and when speaking to another girl there, she totally agreed with me and said she would look into this. A few minutes later she rang me back and said all was fine and that Tony's car insurance would be renewed on the same terms as before with an agreed valuation and so would my Porsche when it came up for renewal.

Another incident I had with CN was when I had someone run into the back of our Citroen which is insured with Norwich Union. Somehow, CN found out about this, sent us a very snotty letter demanding a surcharge of £90 forthwith and would not listen to the fact that this incident was not my fault. We paid up so as not to invalidate the insurance on our 2 Porsches. However, I did go back to CN with proof that this was incident was not my fault and they agreed to reimburse the £90, but we had to wait, and wait, and wait with multiple telephone calls before eventually getting a refund.

The above sagas are a bit of food for thought............

Hi Beaky,
In the end my current insurer, Performance Marque renwed my policy for £40 less than they first offered to.

Not the cheapest, but only £100 excess and I don't have the hassle of sending a copy of my thatcham certificate etc etc.

This website gave me some good advice where to look though. Thankyou to all who recommended their insurers and thanks to those that advised to avoid some!

Try Footman James. They insure our Supersport for £500 which seems reasonable to me.

Well, I've joined the club.

My renewal with CN came through the post today.

Premium doubled from last year despite no changes in circumstances on my part.

Now looking for alternatives!

Give all the ones a call on these pages. You can google them to find contact details. I ended doing my household insurance with RH though [:D] . They seem really helpful. I nearly went with them for my 3.2 carrera.
