Anyone know what happens if you want to extend the miles on a limited policy? I seem to have done loads of miles this year[] and I've only 500 left to last me until late March[]. Last year I only did about 50 miles from December to March and the snow is back so perhaps I'll be OK but I just wondered what happens - does the policy just end and you pay for a new year early?

A few years back I was in a similar position and I bought another 1000 miles - think it cost circa £80

Would also recommend manning uk. Speak to Gyles as Paul suggests. I thought about moving from them a few months back, but the only company that were near to them was classic line. I didn't want to move cover though after making a claim they were really professional, which is only when you can tell if any insurer is any good imo

You can put the 993TT on a classic policy and use your NCB on the 997TT, Use one of the online sites to get a base line and then follow the recommendations below from the members.
Thanks guys have tryed a few of your suggestions the cheapest I've found is 1250 for the 993 T and add 200 for the 997 I have full no claims ten years but 6 points for speeding just seems to have doubled from last years quotes so its pay up or shut up I suppose unless any can suggest any thing thanks
I ended up insuring with AON but I had to haggle with the prices using compare the market as a negotiating tool. I also had the 993 on a classic car policy as its over 10 years old. And no, I don't own a doberman called Heidi guarding it!

Classic Line +1
Like Christian I've changed to them recently, www.classiclineinsurance.co.uk/porsche-insurance. Was with Adrian Flux for years and I got the rate halved through Classic Line, now £405 / year (8000 miles / year restricted, business and social use, 6 points).
They sponsor PCGB or similar and recognise membership with a reduction to your premium which is already lower than most to start with.

Thanks very much have found insurance with classic line for the 993TT at £ 595 which I'm very happy with still struggling with the 997T as they wouldn't quote for that as its stays on my drive rather then the garage but will carry on looking that's again for your help
Oh that reminds me why I did not use classicline - they demand a garage. I'd like to build one but just won't work with the way the house and land are organized.
Hi Terry,
I’ve used Classicline for a number of years now.

I've just been through exactly same process - same car ('98 turbo) and renewal date was yesterday.
Having shopped around, I went with AIB.
https://www.aib-insurance.co.uk/
The previous insurance renewal premium quote was £830, AIB was £485 including £15 for roadside assistance.
It was easy experience; can't remember the name of the lady who was so good, but I think she deals with most of their classic car policies.
Good luck, happy to provide any more info via PM.
