Hi,
Below the CD player my car has a Blaupant Graphic equaliser. Is this standard?, as mine does not seem connected.
Also my clock's LCD display is slightly damaged, are these replaceable easily?

thanks

Amo

Nip downt o your local OPC, they should sort you with one...

Not cheap mind.

Whilst we're on the subject of taking that lot apart. My interior fan is currently tring to impersonate an automatic air-conditioning unit. It's deciding for itself when i can or cannot have the blowers on - and just switches on and off regardless of what speed I have the fan on. Can anyone tell me if this is a simple problem or not.
[]

Does the heater cover definitely just "prise" off. The reason I'm asking is that I've got to replace the panel that houses the clock and assumed that I'd have to start at the steering wheel and work across.

You don't have to start from the drivers side. Pull off the four controls first.(dials and sliders) Then very, very, very carefully (using something thin and blunt!) prise off evenly. It is attached by snap on fixings (snap being the correct phrase here!)[] The heater surround is very thin and likely to snap at the weak areas, from the apertures.
Good luck![]

I'm not sure if it something completely different but, a couple of us on here myself included had the problem of the fan not working at all. This was due to the heater resistor pack being crudded up and the micro switches not working. We all replaced ours via Porschapart, some cleaned them up and they were fine. Maybe you have the reverse problem of them sticking on. I could just be making that up,[&:] so it's not my idea if it is indeed something else.[:D]

OK, Cheers Darren. I shall be very, very careful as it would be a major pain to crack one peice whilst replacing another.

Whilst I've got you - how much are your Flamingeye kits?

Thanks. Sounds like the same problem. When the heater fan is 'on' it intermittently comes on and switches off and seems to be undecided as to which speed settings are going to work.

I replaced my cracked one recently - it was only around £6 from the OPC.

Hi
In your opinion, do you think this problem of the resistor pack being dirty and the microswitches not working, could affect the climate control system.
My CC only seems to operate when on setting 4 (if i'm lucky), when I switch it down to noise level 3 it stops all together [&:].
Do these microswitches interact with the compressor in any way as sometimes it starts and sometimes is doesn't. The CC has had a refill lately.

Maybe off topic a little - sorry.
Ta for any ideas.

About those LCD clocks,

are they supposed to illuminate at night?

Mike

Just found out that the main lights switch has a bulb.......must fix it!

Yes, it sounds like your bulb has gone.

It's easy to replace. Look at Tech Tip no 3 in the FAQ's at http://www.titanic.co.uk/944/

I have the paupers' version of your car kit though the cab was for sale before I bought it so it was tucked between the seat and the transmission tunnel in mine.

In terms of power I always buy a 4-way power outlet from Hellfrauds and hard wire it into the lighter behind the dash. It mounts neatly in the top corner of the glove box in a 944 and I used to run the power from my iPaq through the dash and into the back of the glove box so the plug wasn't visible.

Aha, that was the next plan, to wire into the back of the lighter so you have saved me sourcing one, I shall be off to Hellfrauds tomorrow - nice one Fen

Pretty good. Whee did you get the vinyl from and is it padded?

Is that an in car phone? I'm confused - doesn't look like a mobile phone
