I have looked through a couple of books and pulled out the known names of drivers --- and their job functions (which I hope are correct).
I have also tried to decypher the signatures of others.
The known list:
Harm Lagaay --- Chief of Design
Tony Hatter --- 993 Designer, went on to design GT1 (Pinky Lai was the designer behind the 996 though a 993 development mule was used in the first prototype dated September 1994)
Mathais Kulla --- Design concepts
Bernd Kahnan --- Suspension project manager
Rohl ? ---most likely --- just before the sale of the car.
The unknown to me list:
Schmierer --- Specialists project team
Kroner
Heldier
Treffger
Rysbergen
Inidenberg
Fikles
Murkett --- Steve, designer of the Panamericana and Dune Buggy excersises (which looks like a hybrid 993 / 996 ?)
Morbitz
Bugbee --- Worked very closely with Herman
H Hermann --- 911R racing driver with Vic Elford ? --- supplied Speedline rims, Momo, etc
Munz --- Suspension guy
Muller --- 2.8RSR driver
Burchharat
Scla
Morbitze
Frank
Sickles
K Luig --- Interiors guy
Haag
Harman
Johniesses
Sileman
Pfeifer
Presse !
Neumann
Sclas
Bolinger --- Gearbox guy
Fink
Any suggestions ??? Tnx, Chris.
Have you spoken with Steve Kevlin?...he may have come into contact with the car in his previous role with Porsche UK.
I follow the connection of a Brit designer etc...but it is intriguing, as to why they would run a rhd development car????
It would make great write up in Porsche post, maybe the club can use some influence to fnd the right contact in Stuttgart for you?
He is easy enough to contact, Steve is a club official, runs the club trackdays and open/speed championship etc.... Nice chap, very knowledgable and helpful.
I recall Steve was previously employed by Porsche UK and ran a tricked up 93 as a company car when they first came out, so he may know people from the factory around this time?

Apparently the car was part of a fleet for the development team to drive. Porsche wanted miles to be put onto finished cars (it has a valid Vin number) in order to benchmark progress to date and evaluate the performance of the whole. The original engine, if Varioram (the exhausts suggest it may not have been) would have been a very early one from October 1994 --- but that can be checked. The original engine number was 63S85102, a replacement engine being bench run-in by the factory for around 5,000Km before being fitted in March 1996 with a covering letter of explanation from Porsche.
An early duty for the car was it's exhibition by Porsche in June 1995 on the Porsche stand at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, --- driven across from the factory by Tony Hatter.
When were the first cars supplied to dealers in the UK ?
All additional information would be most useful --- and many thanks to those who have already contributed !!
Cx.
by the way my production number is 1458590.

I remember the car from day one fred owned it directly from the factory. At the time fred had said the car was used to develop the spoiler and wings for the rs.
The production number is under the knee pad in the middle of the dashboard.
