Or does Mr Freisinger work on the one born every minute theory??

http://www.freisinger-motorsport.de/porsche/uk/Porsche_Cars_for_sale/89.html

Everything on his site appears to be basically 30% above what its actually worth... which is irritating because there is a car on there I've been gently enquiring about for 9 months... and would probably pay 25% less than he's asking!

Oh well, he must find buyers/mugs eventually.

Rick

So 30-25. You're prepared to pay 5% more than it's worth. [8|] As there's always someone prepared to pay more than you are it's fair to say that someone will pay more than you. [:(] The upside is that his cars don't get sold immediately and so more prospective buyers get a look in. He's the same as Thomas: in a rising market pitch your prices much higher and wait for the market to meet the price. I thought Thomas's prices were staggering. The cars remain on his site for months and what happens - they seem reasonable. Unlike HWM where the prices change daily, if advertised at all, and the cars must be bought by desparate people.

That's not meerkat. [:D]

Hmmm... 20 + 30% = approx 27..... - 25% = 21.... If you add a third you need to remove a quarter...

But you're right.... in a rising market... why not pitch high and wait... but he's been sat on some of the cars on there for a VERY long time.

I guess you have to work on his theory where he's got basically unique cars, so people can't go buy the same away.

And he has got some seriously nice cars on there!

Speaking of Thomas, his black 964 3.8 RS has now reached new heights (199,964 euros). So, Tom is even more impressive than Freisinger (whose cars have remained at the same unsold values for years): in a rising market, set the value of the car too high, and then INCREASE said value by about 10% each year because it does not sell [;)][;)]

Reminds me of Zeno's paradox.

Looks very cheap for an RSR.

Believe me they will all be ÂŁ500k+ very soon!!!!

<Des mode off>

Dang Phils beaten me too it! I thought it was my job to cheer the TS 3.8 RS higher and higher!

He's a special one that Tom... 200k! Jeeeeeeeez...

He puts it up anymore I won't be able to afford to drive mine ;-)

Sorry Rick, just wait for another couple of months and I will let you make the next announcement [:D][:D][:D]

Hypothetically, if you were a specialist car dealer in Germany - but also a bit of a collector. In onder to maintain the tax advantages of it being stock, but to deter would be buyers, wouldn't raising the price regularly be a suitable strategy? Just a thought[:)]

Well after the way I started this thread, got an email this AM from Mr Freisinger hitting my bid which I must admit I REALLY didn't expect.

Ho hum... guess I'll need to pretend I bought another car to celebrate the birth of #3 son or summink! Wife will NOT be impressed....
