Is this the most beautiful car in the world ?

Yes Astons are beautiful looking, however they just don't get my juices flowing. They are too good looking if that makes sense - your always better off outside the car looking at it rather than behind the wheel so it sort of defeats the object for me. Also for me I just couldn't spend all that money on one knowing it will spend most of its time in the garage and that as a performance car it is not the best. Everytime i'd pull up against a 997 C2S at the lights i'd feel like i'd bought the wrong car. Espeicially if I was heading for the twisty lanes. Having said that if I pulled up at the lights in a 997 next to an Aston I would certainly be giving it a good oggle!

Interesting topic ... peanut, that Aston is pure porn. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. BUT, as Scott has said, Astons never really get my juices going. Apart from visually.

New XK8 is not, in my mind, that pretty at all. The old one was much prettier, to my eye. Sorry. But a previous-gen XK8 is a car I would very much like to own ... one day ...

But then I always have liked older cars. I still wonder what I will (ever) replace my S2 with. (ETA: First guy to say "A Turbo" will earn my eternal displeasure. OK?)

I guess it's what you're used to seeing. We don't see too many of them down here and I've always thought that Aston was a brilliant bit of kit. More so when I saw one (DB9 I think) on the track and it was amazingly nimble for it's size and stature. Conversely I've always thought the Jag was a blatant and poor Ford copy and I felt embarrassed for them. [&:]

The Aston does nothing for me at all - I just find it a bit bland, with too many curves. The XK8 looks a lot better (maybe a bit more butch?)

MMm me wonders how you like you're wimin???????? with curves or sharp boxy butch edges lol [;)][:D]

I turn my back for 10 minutes and you little devils start posting pornography all over the forum.

I always quite fancied an Aston but it wasn't until I went around the factory that I started wondering how much I could sell my soul for.

I have a number of Aston pics, which I will try to get around to uploading, including some of a black DBS. Now that is a strange looking car. Not as sexy as the V8 Vantage or DB9 but has an incredibly menacing presence. It looks like it would kill you, if you stood too close, just for the fun of it. If it were a person it would be Vinnie Jones (or Daniel Craig for that matter [8|]) . I was frightened to even photograph it and now find it is best to have several people in the room before I gaze upon the images again.

lardy cars trimmed with acres of cow hide do nothing for me,

I know where you`re coming from Peter but the difference nowadays is that these lardy cars with all their bells and whistles are quicker than ours in many cases so you can have you`re cake and eat it [8D] They also corner pretty well too (you dont need eye watering G force super duper cornering unless on track) Dont get me wrong but there are some fabulous cars out there that are considered dull with circa 5 secs to 60 times and 170mph top speeds ?? I love my 951 but I`d go for an Aston like that every time.

The only true driving sensations are in open cars like Westy`s Atoms, Radicals et al but they are absolutely useless as a daily driver and even for sunny weekends away which (unfortunately) is why I dont drive that type any more. (and cant afford an Aston)

i saw a brand new 911 turbo in black the other day i a car park, I parked the mondey next to it (no chance of him opening his doors on my car then) anyway abolutley stunning IMO

I was down at the Brooklands Club the other day when one of the longstanding and rather ancient members saw an advertisment for Astons in the Telegraph.

"Good God, well have members of the general public driving Astons next!"

Agreed, Astons look lovely but would never buy one even if I won the lottery. Lambo or f430 yes for the madness of it all and the f430 probably the pinnacle in modern supercars. The perfect Aston will be the Rapide because then it will all start to make sense, a warp speed gentlemans club is how my mate described the experience many years ago (long before Clarkson said something similar).
