ISA vs Porsche

Are they really eligible for the historic monte? Ooooohhhh, this thread is about to get dangerous!! [:D][:)]

ORIGINAL: DSCBoy

924 Turbos?? Bought 4 for 2800 quid... given a dead one is 3000 euros over here I'm sure in a few years time they will be of value... and you can always build one up as a track car for the Youngtimer series on the Ring, or take up a bit of rallying and do the Historic Monte for which they are also eligible??
First target for me is Tour Brittannia... now that should be a lark if only for the looks on the faces of the boys in the RS's and RSR's when 2k's worth of 924 Turbo comes slithering down the inside into the first corner... ;-)

FOUR ? How did you explain that to Julie? One each? or doesn't she know yet?

This is an interesting thread as I'd like a track car that Mark and I could both drive, with a view to doing some racing together.

So I've been looking at 968s in PH classified..

Sue is dead against,at least until Mark is in a position to contribute financially. He hasn't helped by saying that while he loves the idea he won't do it until he can afford it[&:]

I think I'll be too old then[:(]

Missus hasn't spotted that the V5 that arrived in the post doesn't match the car I bought with her Ebay account... ;-)

So she knows of 1.... seems silly to boast about the other 3...

But yes, they are eligible for the Youngtimer series supposedly, they are def. just about the newest car you can take on the Historic Monte and ditto they sneak into the Tour Brit as well...

See here list of eligible cars for the Monte:

Apparently balance is excellent, and given a whole car (non-running) is 500 quid parts therefore are cheap!

I fancied an outing on the Nordschliefe to shake it down pre-Tour and then off to the Historic Monte early in 2011!

Returning to the thread though, just don't see how you lose money on a 1000 quid Porsche (max price I paid for a fully running car missing only an MOT)...

Cheers

It seems with my paultry £16k I could buy several Monte-Carlo "Historique" cars then sell them all on as ex-Monte Carlo entries?

Nissan Sunny, a 924 Turbo, Daihatsu Charade, Vauxhall Chevette, Rover 2000, VW 1300...

For true provenance, you will need to race prep them, hope your entry is selected, pay your fees, then at least get it through scrutineering so you get the all important sticker to put on the roll cage.

If you need a driver....... :)
