Its Fish and Chip Time Again - 29th March

John and Rita

Jan and I will be there weather permitting so 2 more fish and chips and a parking place please.

Will be good to see you after the long winter

Andrew W.

Thanks for the replies, I know a lot are conditional on weather but the east coast is usually drier, last year a poor start ended with sunshine in Whitby.

To date response is good , 17 cars for the run and 33 for fish and chips.

See you all at Specialist Cars, Malton, on Sunday from 10 a.m. onwards (don't forget to get up an hour early!)

Sorry John and Rita, but something's come up and we won't be able to make it on Sunday. Have a good day anyway!

Disappointed you and Sharon cannot make it - forecast for Sunday looks good and there may be a surprise rare Porsche at Specialist Cars.

Didn't know that it ( keeping people in suspense) had arrived - if it has then it is worth the trip just to see it - confidently predict that I will never see another one!

Hi Steve

Expect to leave Malton about 11.30 - give everyone a little extra time for losing an hour in bed - lunch booked for 2.30.
Parking charges are cheaper this year, dependent on hours rather than all day fee.

Cheers
John

Everyone welcome - just let me know how many for lunch and number of parking spaces

Good morning,

I am new to this forum and would very much appreciate some advice / assistance with a potential problem I am having with 997 Carrera 2S 2005 - 3.8.

I purchased the car back in October08 and am absolutely loving it - its just turned 30000 on the clock. My problem is with the clutch in that 1st and 2nd arefine, however foot down in 3rd or 4th and the gear doesnt bite, it feel like Im riding the clutch until the gear evetually bites and power os restored. It also shudders slightly when I pull away and also when I change down. Before I rush out and spend GBP1000 on a new clutch, I was wondering whether it may simply need adjusting, even though the clutch is electronically self adjusting, (it may be faulty). I say this because the clutch under foot feels fine, the biting point is midway and the pedal stiff, Also the car has only travelled 30000 motorway miles, which seems a tad low to warrant replacing the clutch.

Any help or advice would be greatfully appreciated.

Simon

Welcome to Porsche ownership Simon and the PCGB forum. I suggest you re-post your query in the 997 forum on this site. You will find people helpful - if a little humorous! If the comedians get to you try Rennlist forums!

If anyone going to Whitby would like to send me some photos of the event (and maybe even a few words!) I'll try to get them in next month's Porsche Post. Photos need to be 1 MB size so that they can be edited for the magazine.

Great day out John and Rita.

As always immaculately planned and delivered. The specially ordered sun appeared on cue and everyone seemed to have a great time.

Many thanks

Jan and Andrew W.

Yes the drive over the moors was fantastic on such a sunny clear day - many thanks to you and John at Specialist Cars for providing the welcome refreshments.

Hi Rita & John

I would just like to add my thanks for yesterday. The views from the road on top of the world sometime after Rosedale were amazing. I can't be more specific as I don't know where we were.

Kind Regards
