i've done it!!

Hi Clyd,
My UK journeys are through the countryside because I like corners and sweeps plus a few decent straights. Not as good as Bavaria I will admit. Why do I let BMWs and Mercs go ?, because over 145mph the speed builds more slowly, and the old girl is 16 years old after all. Not quite a match for AMG Mercs or 8 series BMWs. Audis are far more respectfull with the exception of R8s. The thing I like about a Porsche is that it is great for all my driving moods and journeys. Can't say that of many cars.
Enjoy

You'll never convince me that you're using the car as Porsche intended it to be used if you're averaging 25+ mpg Richard, especially if that's on A and B roads.

I think we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one.

One of the posts mentioned the issue of track day fuel consumption and whereas I would get 240 - 260 miles from a tank on the daily commute I managed to squeeze 110 miles out of the same tank at Cadwell Park. And you know what every single mile was worth it.

The joy of every mile in the 993 outweighs any concern about economy,if there are concerns about mpg on the daily commute do what I did and buy the best modern 2+2 on the market that returns 50 mpg, has a banging stereo and still turns heads. A Toyota IQ.

Maybe this is a new thread - what is the best combination for dual car ownership. I'll kick off with the 993 Carrera 2S manual VR and Toyota IQ. I doubt there is any better!

OK, here's mine.

993 (of course), preferably 6 speed coupe.
Audi A5 Quattro 3.0 Tdi daily driver for effortless cruising and reasonable economy
Landrover Defender 90 plus Simexes and other mods for Snow and play.
