From what I know it was never supposed to be a road legal car, justa project for the blokes at the factory.

Not sure on numbers, but have seen a couple for sale. One about 2 years ago on a rennlist thread for £62000 with something like 3000 mileage and one more recently in the states for $130,000 iirc.

yep those are the ones. If you look really carefully you can see the bolt holes on the flange on the firewall. Even better is the inside picture (911&PW) that shows the flange in black against the white and the bolt heads.
 
Finally here are some pics that should show you all what we mean. I would guess Calvaire you cage looks like this?You should see what I mean about the fact that the cage is bolted in but is not removeable without dstroying it.

yes , that's the one. But I took away the front part leaving the cage only in the back. That's because here if the police stops you it's going to be hard to motivate the utilisation of a full cage..
 
Just for info,
Mines an Italian spec car Laurence but is std RoW spec - doesn't have the bars in the engine bay.
