Janspeed exhaust system for 944 turbo

Hi all, I'm currently trying to source a janspeed decat and rear silencer for my '91 944 turbo and I'm struggling a bit. I hear they will only produce a batch if 5 or more of each part are ordered. Is their anyone who can shed some light on this for me, or perhaps 4 other owners who would consider ordering some?....
Thanks :)

I emailed them last month when I was in the market and to be honest, they weren't all that helpful. They wanted RRP for the five systems and I would have had to administrate the group buy myself. So I gave up and bought a Dansk from JMG!

For more power get a pipe put in place off stock cat or slincer. For more noise change back box, if you the rest stock and cut in to shouldn't cost much in 2.5"

Custom 3" system will cost around £ 1k but if your leaving car under 300 hp do the above for £200/300

It has a custom rear box on at the mo which is too "boomy" for me, so I'm after a little quieter than that but sportier than stock. The main reason for me though is for the spool up benefits of the cat delete. I'm happy at about 300bhp, it's a cabriolet so I don't want to tinker too much, just release it's standard potential.

ESS used to stock and sell the Janspeed exhausts - might they have a few gathering dust in their stockroom ?

Yes, I've looked into them but in works out pretty expensive with importing, duties etc. lovely looking system though.

From memory a new Dansk rear section was around £230 delivered, but I got lucky as they had a barely used item lying around...

I'm going to have my centre box chopped out too as T3rra mentions, I figure coupled with the Dansk it should sound nice.

I've just had a great response from janspeed, they said they received an enquiry recently from another customer so they are prepared to manufacture a batch of 5 and keep three themselves, so if I was pleased I could recommend the system to others to move the last three. I hope the other enquiry wasn't you though :-/

Im interested, but don't need one quite yet. I suspect that Janspeed would sell far more if they were ever available...

It must have been me as it was literally a handful of weeks ago! I didn't ever get back to them as they were far too slow in replying and I wasn't overly impressed with their response, but it sounds like you've had more luck. It's a shame our timing is out!

I may still be interested, but it's a big maybe as I want to spend money elsewhere on the car. I'm sure you can find someone else though!

If you want to increase spool, a cone filter will help with that. After my stage 2 tune from Tom barks my 26/8 would make 1.3 bar where the stock set up made 0.8

0.8 was brought down to around 2.6/8 in 4th and 5th

Is the janspeed back box the oval tail pipe? Looks to fit the valance gap well. I would off brought one ages ago if they where avabile.

Any exhaust from the USA will cost itself again in shipping a duty charges making £750 system £1500

I had the prototype one developed for ESS, its still great many years later. The front (decat) section retained a box as when they developed it they discovered it created more power that way. Only slight change I might make is a longer tailpipe as when my car was running very rich it made the bumper black

Must say that fitment looks nice, bit large for myself,

Interesting about the 1st slicers. Iv got 2 small box's on my new 3" in the stock locations

I would definitely be interested in a system.

Did they give you an estimate of the cost for a full system?

Thank you everyone for your input, I'm awaiting their response regarding cost and I have asked for oval tailpipe as it echoes the original as much as possible. I'll post their response as and when I get it :)

It certainly fills the gap in the diffuser nicely and far better than the low-hanging Dansk pea shooter! They also do a twin smaller pipe version which looks nasty and costs more...

I'm still interested.
