January '11 Meet ?

Suffolk944

Moderator
As Paul mentioned on another thread - I think it would be good to organise another New Year 944 meet as per Rutland Water this year. That went really well despite the freezing conditions and it would be good to make it a bit of a 944 regular event. We could go back to Rutland or, as a change is always good to keep things fresh and give others a chance to come along, perhaps a new location ?

Open to ideas/suggestions for locations as I am out in the Flatlands of East Anglia any place is a bit of a trek for me so makes no odds personally (unless everyone fancies a trip to my neck of the woods - have some lovely locations!).

We would also need to agree on a date of course.

Please note this is an informal 944 get together and not a club event so members and non-members alike are welcome to come along.[:)]

Would be up for that mate. Somewhere around the middle as it's my birthday!! Personally I think Rutland Water would be perfect. Nothing to do with location ahem cough!!

You would be most welcome [:)]

From a personal and selfish point of view I need to make a claim for a late Jan date to give my car a chance to get back from Promax with its Boost and Bodywork tweaked and fettled.

I'll be up for that. Try not to make it clash with autosport show as I guess there may be a few here heading over there..

Anybody found a 2-for-1 password for tickets yet?

Me too, and mine is the one in the queue before yours!
Mind you, I am still hoping to get mine back before Christmas, but it is looking less likely now I think.
Late Jan would be good if it enables more cars, and hopefully less snow.

I will try and make this year's. especially if it is in the Rutland area
I have managed to get a stay of execution on my car until the new year....so hopefully I will still have her come late Jan!

hiya all, i would be up it, how about suffolk or norfolk for a meet? as jon said lots of good places in that neck of the woods, cheers jason

Well regardless of location, I am going to suggest Sunday 30th Jan as the date. Hopefully there will be enough interest to make it worthwhile going ahead with this.

Yes there is a code but its for club members - yet another reason to join up . [;)]

I have put the 30th in the diary. It would be good to meet a few other 944 fans! Am in North Essex, so Suffolk/Norfolk suits me.

Who knew that most 944 owners live near Norfolk. Scary stuff! [:D][:D]

30th looks like a good date, I'd just try to pick a venue near the motorway network in case of bad weather. People might be happy to risk a trip up the M1, but could be scared off by somewhere that's not gritted. [&:]

I'd like to meet up as well, I'm in Lowestoft so anywhere is far away for me [:D], just hope the weather's not to bad, although I don't mind driving mine in any conditions, and she does have to sit outside anyway.

In all this freezing weather the one bonus with my 944 is that the heater seems to have been replaced with a small volcano [:D], downside is the temp. dial is very sensitive !

11th is the perfect date for me and why not keep it as Rutland as per last year or we will just get too many people suggesting their local pub and a meeting point will never be agreed?

Hi All

Can not make the weekend of the 30th this year, so hope you have a good one and it's not quite as cold as last year!

Rutland was a good meeting place we thought, and the food was good at the pub we went to last year, although it might be worth letting them know in advance and book some tables, (can't remember the pubs name)

Cheers

Andy

30th good for me, could do others.
Rutland is good - is only 5 miles or so from A1 and not many more
From A47 - major east west route.
But am happy to go with the flow

Andy - sorry you can't make that 30th.
