jealousy on the roads?

I've has my C2 for nearly 9 months and living in the Max Power Utopia that is Southend on Sea, I have to say that all I get is a wave, a smile and they move out the way.

The only problem comes from 30 somethings in their BMW 3 series , thinking they own the road, that get annoyed when someone younger comes up behind them in a car with more Class in it's spare wheel than their entire car !!

Motor bikes!!
These guys do like to provoke - inches from the rear.
Recently had a blast with a CBR600 - I bottled out as I touched 135Mph.
I am new to the 'power of the Porsche' and was so impressed when I had 2 car lengths on him from 70mph in 3rd.- he soon caught up, but I thought not bad for the 15 year old girl though.

I have noticed people do get out of the way on the motorway and I don't barrel along either. Also, I have notice people tend not to overtake too - maybe it won't last judging from the other posts.

PS - I like the recognition from other 944 owners, reminds me of my Morris Minor days![:D]

I see this from both sides of the fence.
I have got a Suzuki GSXR-750 and sometimes I get clowns in there "fast" cars that will try to race me. I know for a fact that there going to lose big time and love humilating them, I did it to a 40something who tried it on with a TVR near Whitby (He had his girlfriend with him aswel just to really ruin it for him!) .
I also have a 964 C2 Targa and if a motorbike tries to dice with me I just leave them to it because that I know it will end in me getting thrashed and the biker will be down the pub saying "you should have seen this tw*t that tried to race me in a porsche"

Just to agree with Neil , i also wear both hats!!
On a straight drag , once the bike was off the line, most modern Superbikes will be far quicker to a ton than any of our Porkers!
Main reason power to weight ( Ducati 996 , 118bhp@190kgs=621bhp/tonne. !!
964RS=260bhp@1160kgs=224bhp/tonne
.........no contest
However once speeds get very high(obviously not on a public road officer)
ie in excess of say 120mph then the rider starts to prevent the bike becoming streamlined and a very quick Porker may have a chance !!][:D](plus you cant fall off a Porker at that speed !!!!)

Don't get me wrong that I like to try and race bikes but, the time and conditions were acceptble and both were up for a bit of 'fun'. [;)]

The only way you can come near some of these bikes is on tight bends like roundabouts, and the not for very long ! It seems that they don't change direction all that fast (is this correct ? I have never owned a bike).

On normal roads, I just pull over to the left, make sure they have seen me, and let them just go past. Most of them say thanks, (more than car drivers), which just means less agression/more 'cool' on the roads.
