Just an observation

You have to be logged in too.
Only to see the “members only” forums of which there are very few. Anything you write on the others, including the Cayman forums, can be viewed by anyone who is not logged on or even a member/guest member.

How do you find the latest posts? Not easy I can tell you that!!

I’ve just spent the last 10 minutes trying to find it and am still searching. Probably can’t see for looking.

Dan.

About as easy as trying to find your private messages Dan!

Very easy to find latest posts it's what I only use.

Click onto the bar on left forum comes up with latest posts in there.[;)]

The following stages in the pics may help you find PMs. But you must login first.

My screen looks nothing like that Peter. I have nothing along the top line of my Forum web page

Dan

To my mind it makes no sense to split the Cayman and Boxster sections. The 911 models are not split into Coupe and Cab (with Targas in the middle?)

I have a Boxster but always look at the Cayman section.

If the forum needs sub-dividing then splitting into 986, 987, 982, 982 would makes more sense.

WRT model specific sections, I kind of agree and don't agree but as Jeff said, most issues and solutions (squeaks, rattles etc) are common in all models. A specific GT4 page?? I'm not so sure. It leads to an elitist page for the fortunate.

Dan

I`ll bite my tongue on `that` ... for now [X(] :ROFLMAO:

I fully agree with this except we could divert thread to appropriate places with sections such as:

[ul][*]Getting Started/FAQ's - stuff like ordering questions, configurator questions/guides, running in, insurances, recommendations. etc [*]General Discussion - General chit chat[*]Technical & DIYs - with perhaps access to Electronic parts catalogues, engines technical information on the different powerplants, DIY guides for things like Grilles, FAQ's for oils etc. [*]GT4/Spyder - Specific GT information & chat. [/ul]

I think the Cayman Owners Club website had a good approach.

it has generation specific sub-sections (987, 981, 718), and then within each of those a ‘special editions’ sub-section (eg R, GTS, GT4).

Overall I agree with the sentiment that less is more, so long as less is still enough; and fundamentally the whole website needs junking and building a new from the ground up, and to be optimised for mobile use.

There are many other better forums that could be ‘copied’, or at least used as inspiration.

It’s one of the reasons I didnt renew my membership this year - didn’t want my Money not being used to my benefit…
