Just got a new to me 944 (beware lots of pics)

It is a common mistake, to call all metallic burgundy 944s Maraschinorot... This is a 1986 car and LY3V was a 1987 & 1988 colour (IIRC).

I do have an advantage too, in that I have seen the car IRL.

im just not as sold on this colour as everyone else. maybe when kirky gives me a price it would put me off? lol

what about a blue from an earlier year?

Oooh, think that's my neighbour's RS. Colour is very nice. [8D]

There's a lot of work in a colour change, don't forget you've got to strip to a bare shell. Fair enough if you're going to do that anyway but a pale-blue car with metallic red under the bonnet, inside the cabin etc? No.

There is a metallic (Garnett) similar to the cars current colour, its one of my favourite '44 colours. There used to be a colours thread a few years back but I cant find it now, do older posts get deleted or archived?

Your car looks almost as good when it's dirty as when it's clean - to me it means it's a good one! [:)]

Thanks - seems search doesn't necessarily pick them up from there

It does but selecting 944 as a search location is not good enough, you have to search 944 faqs can the 944, 944 faqs and 944 technical be combined in the search?

I know the exact one you mean, it looks really similar to a Subaru Mica Red. STUNNING Colour!

Thanks for all the positive replies, Ive had a really good look at the car today and must admit the colour is growing on me a bit, ive also been and bought another "family" car today, so funds are even lower lol.

Paul, looks lovely, but no! [:D]

Not so far as I can see. Sadly the search function is fairly rubbish but one day we'll have a shiny new forum platform to play with. Things like this will all go over to the website where pictures are permanently archived. Currently if someone has posted them via photobucket or somewhere then the pictures can disappear at random when people move on.
