Hi all, new to the site.

Have just traded in my 996 C4S which i've only had since January, fell in love with Porsche (as a long-term Ferrari owner also, so that's saying something! )

Wondering if anyone knows anything of this car?

Cheers guys

Funnily enough i was looking at this car earlier today. 993 Turbo i think is the possibly the ultimate to own and actually in that colour it is also rare i wud say. Maybe its the price but they have had that car for ages, not that that really matters. Enjoy

David, were you up at Amari? If so, anything you thought looked out of place?

Car had two gigantic folders of history, all invoice/receipts from new. Well documented evidence of an oil leak and smoke from exhaust on start-up which has now been resolved. Is this common on the 993T?

Many thanks,

James.

Smoke on start up need not be a real problem. I was just looking at the car on the web. Its beautifull. Was for sale for a while as i said

Was for sale privately on eBay or PH early in the year low 40's IIRC NW based, then I assume Amari bought it in.

Welcome to the Club!

I assume you had the Challenge Stradale - if so what was your experience owning the Stardale and why did you sell up?

Still have the car. It's certainly very special, very raw and very loud. The 993 will bridge the gap of comfort and outright speed hopefully. I'll never sell the CS.

Toying of the idea about the CS but not sure about the F1. I just love stirring the manual box - just feel more involved. Agree the sound is intoxicating [:)]

if the noise alone doesn't do it for you, of the cars in it's price range there aren't many that will hold their value - good time to get in to one if you're looking for one harry!

i can't wait to pick this turbo up now though! [:D]

Aren't Ferraris very senstive to mileage when it comes to pricing?

Hit the nail on the head. For the CS, an 03/04 53 plate car with 10k+ miles will suffer to reach 80k. An 04/04 with 10-20k could command 80-90k max in the right condition. There are a few 54/05 05 plate cars (mine is one) which have all issue such as ECUs and heatshields perfected, 10-20k on one of those would again reach 90k. All cars with sub 10k miles seem to command 90k + at the moment. The 100k cars are always sub 1000miles and a few have popped up over the past couple of years.

THe one important question remains - in the longer term would the CS hold its value better than a 993RS with similar mileage. I think I know the answer.... Whilst the CS is really appealing, I may regret letting the RS go.

i couldn't comment as i don't know the porsche market well enough.

CS will be the strongest modern ferrari for a few years to come i believe
