Well i guess most of the sc***s damage was to the bits that the aerokit repalces, especially also all those stone chips on the front bumper[&o]

And then this happened[:)]

Turned out it didn't cost much more to fit the aerokit than fix the paint damage anyway.

Just waiting for it to be painted body colour and fitted properly[:D]

After seeing a quote for paint repair today, I'd suggest that Tom may be correct in his assumption the kit will be cheaper!! [:(][:(]

Accidents will happen Tom, you need to be more careful ! If it was me I'd probably get it colour-matched, I think the white nose and tail will take some getting used-to ![;)]

My own car is in the workshop today, unfortunately for new Tracker and an air-mass sensor following a third breakdown in two weeks ! I'm hoping that with all the parts I've replaced it's almost a new 997 again now !

I know that feeling[:)]

Will post photo's when the works finished and the thing is all one colour[:-]

Too funny Tom! I nearly did the same thing when I scratched my rear bumper - almost straight down to Tech9 for a TechArt bodykit [:D]

I am surprised you didnt consider TA too as they make some really nice changes to the Carrera:

Alex

I thought long and hard about the Tech9 stuff

Long and short of it was cost - the deal on the aftermarket Gen1 C2S Aero Kit meant its literally ÂŁ200 more than getting the current damage fixed by my local OPC....As its genuine OEM stuff too that was a good deal.

Currently couldn't justify the extra outlay for the techart stuff.

Tom, the aerokit looks better than the Techart kit anyway in my opinion, you've made the right choice.

As I can see from the photo you have the aerokit too (GT3 one if I am not mistaken)

I agree with you - The Aerokit has grown on me or is that grown on my car[;)]

Hmm tempting

I was thinking Cargraphics like Alex's but maybe in black to match the car colour. Ian from porscheshop suggested gold BBS but that might be too bling for this area and result in even more unwanted attention.

Any particular model of Techarts I should look at?

HRE and Champion are the best in my humble opinion for quality looks and weight saving.

Poor Rob! You must be the most unlucky of 997 owners! Is there anyone out there that has had more bad luck than Rob? Maybe it goes with the Register Secretary title.

Still, at least your brakes don't squeal like a banshee. I visited my OPC 7 times before I came up with a cunning plan to cure the problem.

Yes, but Derek- that was the Sales department, not the service!! [;)]

Mine are 20" Techart Formula GTS (actually BBS) in gloss black with polished rim, but the HRE's look great as well.
