Folks

Earlier this year I confirmed a 944 Register visit to JZ Machtech's workshops. It is now nearing the date for the visit (4th September) and I need to confirm numbers.

So far I have:

Myself
Christopher Ralph
Tony Foote
John Sims
Peter Seymour Howell

We can accommodate at least 10 or so cars, so who else would like to come along?

Please reply on-forum and to me at "mandnfearn@aol.com"

I would like to join you at JZ Machtech on 4 September.

What form is the visit likely to take, as this is the first I have heard about it?

Also, Re: my telephone conversation with you the other day, I will be on the grid for the parade lap at Brands Hatch and hope to meet you there.[:)]

Come on guys.

JZ will be fielding a team of technicians who are able to help diagnose and advise on problems, as well as providing us with a hearty brunch.

Any of you with problems on your cars can benefit from a free opinion from experts.

Some more details, from the keyboard of JZ themselves:

Open 10.00am to 2.00pm in our new unit.
The address is Unit 11, Langley Wharf; this unit is at the front of the
estate, rather than the back of the estate.

Jonas and Steve would like to invite you to a Car Clinic; this allows
you to have individual counselling to problem areas on the cars, giving
you guidance and help solving problematical questions on a selection of
your club member's cars, as I don't think 4 hours will give us enough
time to spend with each club member.

Perhaps if you have a list of the problems of each car before the event,
we can then section off three or four cars with the same problems and
pass them on to one Technician, rather than having an unsystematic
clinic?

I would like to order you a "wholesome brunch" instead of the "elegant
cucumber sandwiches" which doesn't really fill you up, with tea, coffee
and cold drinks.

regards
Nick

this allows you to have individual counselling

Well I certainly need that.... Will this include issues of bringing up a seven year old, fears of global warming and a general feeling of lethargy.

Perhaps if you have a list of the problems of each car before the event,

It might be quicker just to list the things that aren't a problem, not that I can think of any at the moment.

Perhaps I had better get there early.

I can't make it [] but could one of you chaps do me a favour and print this price list off to see if they will still honour it [:D]

It's taken from a 1986 copy of 'Performance Car' that one of the Titanic crew recently spotted

Paul, hi

No problem. I'm sure they'll be delighted to cater for all your servicing requirements at the 1986 prices. Can you pay in Guineas?

Hi

Yes, that's no problem. Could you e-mail me your phone number and name? send it to 944@porscheclubgb.com

cheers
Nick

clinic topics
do they fix rusty holes in the bottoms of front wings? [:(]

Otherwise brakes are always a good topic - lifting plates - sticky pistons - braided lines or not - extra cooling.

strange rattles i have one at around 2,000 rpm.

Will PSH be able to make it?

Tony

braided lines or not

If "not" I don't want to know having just bought a set yesterday.

Brakes is a good topic - What brake fluid and pads do they recommend.

Air Conditioning - Why does my fuse keep blowing?

Induction - Where does the oil that seeps out my intercooler hoses come from? Will this clog the intercooler and is it worth cleaning it out?

Oil Leaks - Where is the oil comming from that leaks onto my turbo cross pipe?

oh yes oil leaks do i have a leak in the area below the oil filter or does the oil just sit there from the filter swap?

Tony

looking for directions I found JZ have quite a nice website https://www.jzmachtech.com/index.html
