JZ Machtech visit - 4th September

I'd like to come but dont have a 944, only a boxster. Will I be welcome or is thsi 944 only event..

As I understand this is an event to examine and discuss the problems and cures primarily associated with 944's.

That said, and others will correct me if I'm wrong, this isn't an exclusive event , (just as Hot Laps weren't exclusively for GT3's [:D]) and you would be most welcome.

Be assured though you would need a thick skin as 944 owners do enjoy a bit of leg pulling. We will probably be giving renditions of both RMS songs currently available and don't want to be sliding ony any oil dropped.

As with all Region and Register events everyone is welcome to attend if there is still space (may be worth sending a direct message to Nfearn in case he does not login today), just be prepared for a talk about the major problems that affect 944's, which may or may not be of interest to you [&:]

I have had all my servicing done by JZ Machtech for the past 6 years and they always have plenty of Boxsters as well as all Porsche so they will be very familiar with your car

Hi Kumaram

I can't see any problem with one extra. The only impact it has is on the catering, which won't present any problems.

All we need now is for Perry to turn up and we can have a complete choir for the RMS songs.

Perhaps John & Perry might like to bring their guitars ?

[:D][:D]

That is so going to happen.........NOT! [:D] I trust someone will print off the RMS songs though.

For anybody interested, I will be at South Mimms services at 9:15am tomorrow.

I will also be in Hockley at 6:00 this evening but obviously that doesn't have any bearing on anything. :ROFLMAO:

The arrangements are that the visit will start at 10am and be concluded by about 2pm.

The Essex mob hasn't fixed up a place to convoy from yet, mainly because we're (sort of) coming in from different directions.

If anyone does want to "convoy" it, I suggested on the Titanic forum that we could meet at South Mimms at 9am for a 9:10am departure. However, in view of John's suggestion above, we'll wait until about 20 past and see who arrives.

There's a good map of the location at:

see you tomorrow
Nick

Great trip Nick,

Thanks for sorting it out.

Very interesting and informative though, alas, prompting more expenditure on BKE. [;)] Don't tell Belinda.

Great to meet up with some old faces and also some new. What shall we do next then?

...........at last. I've been waiting all day for one of you to post.

I was worried you'd either all had a crap day, or had such a brilliant time that you were still there [:D]

I rang them myself this morning to book my next service. None of you lot had arrived then, lazy wastrels [;)]

Yes excellent, thanks Nick for sorting it, more expense for me now as well, but prompt attention will save greater expense later.
Car passed 150,000miles on the way back, 55,000 of them by me.

Husborne Crawley is on the 18th isn't it? I hope so as I'm intending to combine a visit there with viewing an RS2. Anyone else up for it?

I might go, but may I miss out the RS2 bit?

I think that might be the best - it might be a bit "unconventional" to turn up with half the 944 forum to look at it.

'fraid we are away with the Region 11 Eden Project weekend so can't make it [:(].

You boys all have a good time though, and don't upset the proprieter of the Pub too much. I mean, anybody would think that you we spending money in there or something. [:D]

Hi all

just joined, having purchased an '88 Turbo S. Any likelihood of another visit either to Machtech or similar specialist anywhere in the South East - based nr Cambridge.[;)]

Hi Chris,

Welcome to the forum and to Porsche ownership. I'm not aware of another Machtech visit in the next few months (perhaps some of use should book in to have some work done first) Keep you eye on the forum and, I have no doubt, some interesting gatherings will become apparent.

I've been giving them my cash for 6 years [] and I'll be there for a service and MOT on Tuesday [:D].

Chris, check the 964RS forum. They have an open day arranged in the next few weeks. All club events are open to all club members (though obviously 964's get precedence for this one) so get in touch with Des and Mel and see if there are any spaces left.
